Some help please, with transitioning to organics

@yeatster, I wasn't singling your mix out, more of a general observation from over time.

RE:cal/mag in your mix. Did you add any dolomite lime to the pro mix? I know it has some added, but it's a very small amount and can be insufficient. Takes care of pH and cal/mag issues. Best added to the mix when mixing, but can also be top dressed in.

no need to edit man, it's not a formal type thing
why do you like autos?
just curious
you can do the same things to a photo plant as an auto, cept you can keep genetics if you like em, which is always good if you run into a special lady
just in my opinion, ruderalis seems to muddy up the genetics..
I can have seedlings and flowering in same tent, on a 20/4 light schedule. Show me a photo strain that I can do that with and I'm sold.
I'm in 100% agreement with muddying the genetics. When was the last time you've grown an autoflower? Genetics have come a loooong way. I've grown old strains (freebies) that I wouldn't grow again. They really are getting better and better.
You can run a perpetual setup in a single tent with photo's just don't veg them and start them under 12/12 light schedule, they will veg for a couple weeks then flower when they are ready. Just tryin to give you some options other than running rudys. Also would run you less electric and you can keep the standouts.

The reason i bring it up is because genetics are the most important part of growing.
That makes sense. I'll ponder that.

No offense taken. Yes, I've added dolomite lime @ different ratios. 1,2,3 tbls. per gallon. I've recently started using Epsom salt right before flower...thats when it hits usually. It has helped with Mag def, which in turn slowed Cal def. Just didn't solve it 100% I'm still very much in the learning stages of reading my plants. For like 6 mo, I just added shit and hoped for the best. I've got a little better understandinng what does what now.

Apparently, Kis soil is $54 to ship so that's out. I've seen to many problems with foxfarm...thats out.

Roots organic?

Nobody has any other recommendations for an organic soil?

happy frog is nice, but I'm sorry none of the pre packaged soil has successfully brought any of my flowering plants to a fullly
expressed finish on their own.

oh I humbly admit that I have not run a ruderalis strain before at all.
My knowledge on them is only extensive via books and research.
but I have a huuuge complaint about autos
you can't clone and perpetuate the strain.
That's just not acceptable in my method of growing
For me it's the eternal quest of finding the cannabis "holy grail"
only I want seven of them, all different
I'm more than halfway there
But i'd be madly butthurt if I had the best cannabis strain ever and wanted to keep it, but it was an auto...
It'd be like finding the woman of your dreams and then finding out she was only available for a 6 month relationship, and then she moves to Mars or something

Ever try vermifire?
I've done water only grows with that soil before, works great, just gotta be a big container
like 8 gals or so if its a water only plan
in fact this is a picture of a water only SC bluedream from yrs ago
It finished alright

no never saw that at the grow store.
what types of bagged soil do you see man?
what I did when I transitioned from bagged soil was simply re-amending the vermifire each 2 grows with 15% steer manure and a sprinkle of kelp meal. This was for outdoor grows and I honestly think steer manure is the best amendment you can get for outdoor, not only is it cheeeap but it degrades into pure humus (most composted manure is essentially humus that's got slow release forms of all the macros including sulfur) and at the rate that you can use it in a mix is amazing, I know outdoor guys using almost a third of their mix as manure.
manure, promix and perlite.
Sometimes people often don't fully understand the NPK numbers on things, and when you use something like manure, the amount that's in the mix is MUCH more than what you'd use for dry meal-nutrients, so the modest 2-1-1 or so that the manure has is actually much more when you consider the amount added to the mix.

Keeps em greener than anything I've seen outside, and in sunny CA on our hill it gets BRIGHT, and it's a challenge to keep up with photosynthesis
kicks ass for inside grows also

I mentioned happy frog, I've seen fox farms, and now all kinds of names in the stack, just never that one. maybe its because I havent shopped for any kind of dirt since my first pot of promix/organicare experience. I used to use happy frog and/or FF to amend also, then did away with those too.
