Some Kind of Deficiency

Looking for opinions on what kind of deficiency is beginning on this plant

It is 18 days old from sprout, started them in 1 gallon pots in promix soiless

- I use RO water with cal-mag, due to I have a well system and water when almost 75 percent dry
- I gave them their first feeding with jacks classic 20-20-20 at a 1/4 strength at 14 days
- I just transplanted 6 days ago into 5 gallon pots, and they were topped using uncle bens method for 4 colas, i havent watered since and still a little moist, it is so difficult to not overwater at this point due to small rootballs in such large containers.
- these plants were thriving up until a day or two ago, new growth seems fine, just a problem with bottom fan leaves
- temps are always between 75 and 79 and rh is always around 48%

I can only think of moisture stress or mag def, but how can it be mag if im supplying cal-mag with the ro water?

When I transplanted they were pretty rootbound and i did not break up the rootball when i transplanted (i sure wish i did now) so i am thinking maybe moisture stress

naw you just need to feed them a little more

You think so max, what i forgot to mention was that when i transplanted into the 5 gallon buckets, i gave them a second feed with jacks at a hair over 1/4 tsp, you think their still hungry

yes, i would feed with 3\4 strength next watering. The yellowing your getting in the bottom leaves is from lack of nitrogen. Once you give them a good feed you wont see anymore yellowing. But those look great and whatever your doing your doing right.. keep up the good work

thanks for your help, let me ask you, when im pouring 3 gallons or so and feeding it would be the same dose of nutes per each gallon of water or the recemended dose in the last galoon poured

each dose is for 1 gallon so if your mixing 3 gallons of water just times your food measurement by 3

Do you use Jacks 20-20-20? I do. It's actually a very trouble free fertilizer, but you have to have the knack for it.

I would not advise that much, unless you want spotting.

bsp, I only apply jacks classic two times total, all during veg. I do it in between waterings, using a shower can (actually for bonsai trees) and I give it a semi light sprinkle of my mix just as the top layer of soil is drying from your last watering. In doing this, I've found that the soil retains the fertilzer much more efficiently than if you fertilized during a watering. Hope that helps, sometimes its not what we do, but how we do it.

to know for sure on how much to feed, get an EC or TDS meter. This will prevent any problems with feeding, because many fertilizers come with very bad instructions on dosage, that causes much trouble to growers especially in soil less. 20-20-20 is pretty strong, I don't know what the recommended dosage is that you gave 1/4 strength with, but I wouldn't give much of it without care. Then again I don't know this brand and maybe max does, but I'd still get a meter to be sure. When running hydro this is a must imo. I don't even measure how much I put in, I just pour it until I reach my desired EC.

And also if you want to save on the fertilizer, you can put the nutes only for the last gallon, but only in flushing - i.e when the first two gallons just run off of the pot and the third replaces them.

either way it don't look like mg def, but I wouldn't be surprised if it be some toxicity.
