some more bugs to look at

Hi what kind of mite do you think they are
They are feeding off my top dress dry amendments .
I'm guessing that's a good thing but being primarily a hydro grower having bugs in my grow room / pots is not something im that knowledgeable on or use to seeing.
I have clusters all over the places on top of the soil
Should i be worried about bugs if they are not attacking the plants ? I seam to have a ridiculous amount when i look up close and go poking around down there

some people would drench the soil with pesticides and shit but if they are not on the plants and not eating roots (which you’d know by the looks of the plant) why would you kill off a very important part of the nutrient cycle for the plant. without these mites organic soil is not truly organic imo.

also they kinda look like the first pic on this page but cant say for sure.

im not looking to kill stuff off unless its going to be a issue
1st indoor organic run so you know every little thing needs to be looked at and fussed over haha

Have you ever used them? i didnt “use” them they are already here so in that sense i’m already using them but i havent bought and hypoaspis from anywhere if thats what you mean :)

i read most of that page and thats where i seen some what makes me think soil mite as show on the moldy strawberries

pff they will probably merge together and be one massive bug in the next 2 months at this rate .
my bed is made of peat, perlite, compost and worm casting with 4-4-4 dry amendments added 3 weeks in to vegs to the top . apparently that's a stranded mix its about 50% peat. from what im reading im watering too much and im guessing adding organic mater to the top have made them explode

Very likely you bought them lol. In my area every grow store has serious fungus gnats breeding in their stock rooms and warehouses. Any bag soil, compost and some other amendments youre gonna get em. Soil critters are easy to deal with...

yeh gnate issues is what made me start looking at my mulch later then i seen the amount of critters . im sure i bought them in the compost . only bugs i added was red wigglers

Seriously though they're probably beneficial. Especially since they're having a party after you fed them organics, :lol:

Looks kinda like a seed bug or maybe the leaffooted bug. The Conifer Seed Bugs stink worse than stink bugs.
