Some Random Nub Questions

Hello all,

I am an mmj patient, and am growing two small specimens in a very limited growing area.

In the pictures I am using 2 5000k CFL's on both sides and 1 5500k CFL in the middle.

Tonight a little after 10 PM I plan to switch the two side CFL's with the 2700K soft whites, but am considering leaving the 5500K CFL in the middle. This leads me to my first question: Is this advisable for flowering, or should I use all 3 light slots for 2700k bulbs?

Anyways, I then plan to leave these guys in complete darkness for a little less than 36 hours, so will start the 12/12 cycle at 10 AM on Tuesday (hence why I start a little after 10 PM tonight). This is my second question. Is it a good idea to kick-start the flowering in this method? Or should I just start 12/12 cycle with no extended darkness?

About space limitations:

Because in particular, the vertical space available to flower is ~1-1.3 ft, I am first curious if anyone might be able to guesstimate rougly how much I can expect these guys to grow in flowering?

I have taken quite a bit of time to bush both of my girls out, and have had quite a bit of success with the Indica dominant "sweet lou" clone, and moderate success with the sativa clone, "shaman." Is there a point though, where the branching can become too much? Can you bend/bonzai it out too much I guess I am asking? I have kept the "canopy" very close to the soil, and I have to lift the bottom lair when I water, so I am wondering if that might be concern for mold or what not when flowering and what steps I might take to prevent that from happening. I am in Colorado if that helps, so maybe that might not be as much of an issue here?

About fertilizer: Currently just using organic's every other watering. (~1 oz age old oranics kelp with ~1 tbs. of Buddha Bloom per gallon or reverse osmosis/filter water) I have read a lot about foxfarm, and am using their soil in my mix, but I am a bit hesitant to jump into inorganics without much experience, as am concerned about dosing. Anyone have good tips about fertilizer regimens? I have heard bad things about the Buddha Bloom consistency, but the nutreints that it provides/cost seemed pretty worth it. I am always looking for new methods to consider though if anyone has em!

Well, I guess that is enough to satisfy my curiousity for a while.

Again, this is my first time grow, so any tips/comments in general based on what you have read/seen in the pics are greatly appreciated.

Buddy, for flowering,im sure you could do all "cooler"(blue) bulbs. It makes so much sense that while into flowering you want that orange reddish light.Really, you should experiement with the setup in question, next time try it different, compare your results.it's all up to you, can't hurt anything...there are so many different varibles when trying to answer the question ,"how much will I get by harvest?"Did you post pics?

Mixed spectrum is best for flowering so leave the one 5500K bulb

expect the plant to double for sure in size and possibly to triple

I'm not organic (don't buy it at all) so can't help with organic nutes, what I can say is chem nutes are so much easier to deal with

for solid grow tips read my NooB Advice thread

5000K bulbs are not very good because it gives out a lot of spectrums your plants dont use. 5000k is right around the green spectrum, and your plants dont even see green light, it may as well be dark to them. Go closer to 6500k for veg and 2700k is good for flower

No 6500k CFL's around my area that I have seen, might order some for next time, but I can only see one more rotation in this set-up before I try to move into something different. There was only the one 5500k when I looked at my local hardware store, and the plants really have responded quite well to the light they are receiving, lots of vertical and horizontal growth/branching is occuring, which is tapered quite a bit by frequent bending. The main stems are trunk-like in appearence however!
