i made this type of stuff when i was in prison, i didnt have anyone out on the streets when i got busted that would help me out so this was my hustle, it paid for commissary, weed every weeknd and anything else you could need in the joint, i could make almost anything, i mainly used on the motorcycles matchsticks(about a thousand a bike) and about half a dozen popsicle sticks, the glue i used was wood glue stolen from maintence, i used fingernail files as sand paper and toe nail clippers to cut the peices out, i used coffee mixed up as mud to use as the wood stain, this was all out of my head, no kits or models or any of that shit, i also have a beer stein made completly of popsicle sticks thats ill post tommorow. these were actually the only 2 things i kept. lemme kno what you think, it may not be the best work but hey look what i had to work with

I'll give you some +rep for that......I can't picture myself in that hell hole, you must be a strong minded person. Hope you stay out of trouble bro. Welcome to RIU.

Great talent too.......you could sell those in the Ann Arbor Art Fair for a pretty penny for sure.

very cool.

a friend of mine makes shit like that, but he uses dead branches for the wood.
like airplane models, functioning mini pedal bikes (scale models, obviously not ones you can actually ride).

Awesome... such a beautiful, constructive things coming out of your time in there. These photos are lovely... As aforementioned, if you can do that with bits and pieces imagine what you could do when you finally get that workshop. Great that you're moving on up xx

Post these in the art forum, too, so the arty people see them as well xxx

Meh. I once made an 8 foot wooden cross, using only my fingernails. Just kidding. That is truly an exceptional piece, especially considering the tools with which you had to work. Lookinf forward to seeing more of your work.

That's money right there. You gotta sell that shit.
I wonder if, for the maker, selling that would be like me selling my stuffed foxen from my childhood. Sounds OK to an outsider, but really not a sentimentally viable option. If I made that in the joint, it would be a "most prized possession". cn

I have several belts & wallets that were made by inmates.
If you go to Folsom Prison there is a Arts & Crafts store where everything is made by inmates.
You can get custom items made. Give them your size & preferences & they will custom make it.
