kinda traditional in jewish weddings. right after the ceremony, the bride and groom are to spend 18 minutes in a room alone (that's when they would consummate in the olden days). so you've got a bunch of hungry thirsty jews wandering around for 20 minutes.

get those jews some appetizers and alcohol. it's only right.
