Why don't you move your plants onto your property, and not put your neighbor in your own community at risk of losing everything. It's pretty simple. I understand your risks, but guess what? They are your risks. If you can't take the risk, then don't do it. What would you want someone else to do if they walked up on your grow on their property? Any other argument is really a waste of time because you are setting a different standard for yourself and the other grower.

It probably has something to do with the risks of growing on one's own property in a state without med legal cover. I do note that OP realizes the morally tenuous nature of the enterprise and is being a mensch toward his "guest" ... he hasn't simply wiped out the grow. (And isn't planning anything to harm or expose that fellow.) That would be the safe move, so i credit the OP with a certain amount of compassion and guts. While what you say is unarguably correct, i chose to read between the lines of the story. He grows offsite for his own security. Someone else did the same, but ended up on OP's land. I get the sense that OP appreciates the symmetry of the situation. cn

If your own land is hidden, or remote enough that someone else thought they could get away with planting there, then you probably should just grow on your own land rather than someone else's. It sounds like you have plausible deniability anyway which may make any conviction difficult.
If you want to leave them a note then just take the plants first. Leave the note attached to the stalk, so they know it's for them, but no police would ever look at it if they stumbled across the area. Then you can give them all the advice you want without really incriminating yourself. (a note containing advice on how to do a proper guerilla grow, if found on your land, can't be tied to you like a growing weed plant can!!)

If I planted on your land and I came back and saw a note asking me to plant it somewhere else I'd think you were a pretty fucking cool person.
But, if you leave a note and say the police or someone who is totally against marijuana finds it and your note, wouldn't that make you liable?

How so? If someone comes onto MY property and steps on my rake? He was on my property. A lawyer would need to prove malicious intent. If a judge didn't throw that out of court I would be more than surprised.

Yes every footprint is evidence and a note saying I am coming back even though it is such a nice polite appreciable option.... if the sign is found the property owner loses plausible deniability. If ya wanna retain plausible deniability and not move em ya gotta just stay away till frost to be honest... As I said shoe prints can be used to prove that the property owner did in fact know that is his land was commandeered for illegal purposes.
, leave a note with their picture attached kindly suggesting they put a little more thought/effort into it next time

Some of these responses are great. I do think the idea of guerilla growing is to grow on someone elses land. I admit to being a hypocrite in my original post and I do grow on the land of others if it suits me. I don't have to let anyone grow on mine.
no way am I leaving a note or trying to bond with this guy. The blue ribbon is a funny idea. No rakes or hanging fishhooks. I think I may let him harvest and don't want to panic him into harvesting to early. Frankly I should have pulled them right when I found them. Now I am in the position of benefiting from his successful Grow and that seems a bit dirty. I don't need his weed although I could sell it and buy a new gun or grow light. I will let you know what I do but keep in mind a stiff organ has no conscience.

wow this is unreal.. to the original posting subject. myself hopes that your harvest on someone elses land goes thru the same bullshit that your putting others thru..just remember do unto others as they do unto you.. idiot there growing on your land because your growing on there land try talking to your neighbor.. just be cool and let it ride and when its time to harvest clip you a lil bit and then leave a note telling them thanks for the nugs next year it will be the whole crop if they grow here again. AND YOU START GROWING ON YOUR OWN PROPERTY ANS STOP BEING THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK..
So you have your own land that you could grow on, yet you choose to grow on other peoples land without consent. Thats the first move and its kinda weak. Sounds a little harsh I know but why? Afraid to get in trouble. Well thats why profits are high. Deal with it and grow a pair. And quit rippin people!
