damn straight you scored big if it authentic. lol. I was gonna jokingly recommend the gold and silver shop from pawn stars. 20 minutes till the new epsisode, last time that antique farbrice(spelled wrong probally, the most well known pieces are the eggs, you hear about them and how rare and collectible they are) brooch that the lady had no idea what she had, i loved ricks line of "I would really really really like to give you 2 grand for it.........but ive got a conscience. I'll give you 15 grand for it." and then the look of utter shock on her face. there was also the one where the guy finds the old spanish gold bar in his grandpas safe, he almost shit his pants when he found out it was worth something like 25k just for the gold weight alone and then again when the expert said the fact it was old spanish shipwreck treasure that just about doubled that price.
I love stuff like that. lol, I'm hoping that guy was right for you, its always very remotley possible.

yeah well i think today i was hoping to go to a coin dealer today and get an appraisal or info. its just ive dealt with the coin dealer here and hes a lil shady. i either have 13 dollars worth of silver or i have a fortune. theres a possiblilty since there no info on it that it could be extremely rare. so thats what im kinda hoping on

Post back on CG and ask what is the region/origin of the writing from ... You could go on ebay once you know what region it came from and ask a coin collector on there. ebay is full of coin collectors and i regularly see Auction in the 10/20k range dude. Coins are hot commodities if they are authentic

Hop on that now.

yeah the one peice i know is colonial spain struck in mexico. thats what i knew about the cross with the globes on the end. i called a coin dealer today and he said the guy he knows with the knowledge is out of town for a week and he didnt know about them. he said they did make melts of these things but he said they made a lot of counterfeit. but that raises the question if your going to counterfeit it would be money so im still wondering. and i still dont even know what they are. i still havent heard back from the craigslist poster of my add who appraised them (if real) at 13 to 20k so now im even more interested not so much the value as to the purpose. its like why would someone even make something like this. so weird

Money... If you can counterfeit it you can make bank on it if it passes.

just always remember, shit can be faked EASILY

take the coins to your local coin shop,

and as for that 13 to 20k estimation, no

for a coin to be worth that much, it has to be in perfect mint non circulated and not touched condition, and there would have to be less than 1,000 of them in existence

well the one i have is in horrible condition with a lot of corrosion. i was thinkin that one is not worth as much. now the other one is almost too good to be true. and if it isnt counterfeit and is real then its worth big bucks. but also the one in really good shape isnt a coin its just a design of the spanish reale. the other one is the backside of a spanish reale and does seem to fit the description of laying on sand with saltwater eating one side.

i just got a call from the coin dealer i called this morning. 10 hour later he called me and asked me what i had. i told him it had markings of a reale and they were one sided and one of them looked like a melt. his exact words were well bring them by we will figure out what you got because i got books on it and when we figure it out ill tell you where to go from there. what makes me wonder is when he said ill tell ya where to go from there. its almost like he knows what i got and wants to get them moving into sale. i guess im speculating too much

yeah well he seemed very professional on the phone and he didnt want to give me his opinion at all. all he said is that it could be a cob. which i think was the american term for a reale. im not sure till friday im goin to meet him and if it is real he probobly has connections for quick sales cuz he is licensed coin dealer. friday i will know whats what
