Here are the pics of them at 5 weeks. Someone told me 'theyre stretching too much". Is this person basing that on the internode length or what?
Someone help =)

Maybe a little stretchy. They look fine though. Maybe move the light a little closer if it's not too hot.

Whats your setup and yes i see a lot of stretch if your using only HPS to veg thats why you NEED blue spectrum for tighter nodes. Simply cfls in 6500K would take care of a lot of that stretch or T5s but you need blue spectrum. Your plants are fine tho might just end up with more airy or smaller nuggets its going to take some giant buds to fiil those spaces between those nodes. They look healthy and happy tho good work man!

they look just fine put the light a little closer! Then they won't stretch so much!

your plans look good nuts put the lighting a little closer and they will grow tighter.

it still has to fill in, so yea its gonna look a little more streched out than it really is. what i mean by fill in, is above the fan leaves will be a smaller branch starting to grow, those will fill it in some. otherwise, yea its a little stretchy.

2 options: move the light closer, get more light, from different angles.

What lights are you using anyways? they look yellow (flowering) and not white (veggie). that will cause stretching too

Dif strains grow/stretch at dif rates. The top pic...you should cut out the bottom shoots. There's 6 main stems. Cut out the bottom 2. Stretch can be reduced by increasing light energy at the canopy and by using MH lights. Too much red (HPS) too early in the flip will stretch the plants out. Nice healthy plants though. Nice job.

yea i would say that the topped one has stretched ALOT. and it looks like its way to hot....

this is based on two things:
#1 Internode Spacing
#2 Stem Thickness (and strength.....)

the second one isn't too bad, but it is a little stretched. Both of those plant will end up giving you Airy, fluffy Buds without more light and better ventilation.... Heat is the MAIN Cause of stretching (And thin stems..), lack of Nutrients will also cause a plant to strech.

Yes - it's stretched a bit, but no problem. You'll have great bud - just not as many as you could. But each of these buds will get a lot of sunshine ;O)

They are 1 week into flowering, so I'm using a 400 watt HPS. I was using a MH for the vegging cycle.
