Hi
I've been extracting for a couple years now. I extract my trim leaves, small as, and uglies.
My results are never consistent.
My process: I fill a large pot with hot water around 110 degrees F. I then float a pyrex pan in the hot water. I take the contraption outside and blast through a glass column which holds around 2.5oz of dry material, which I crush with my hands. I run a 420oz can of butane through each packed column.
I then remove the extracted material and set it aside to rerun it. I keep the rerun extract seperate from the first run as the quality isnt quite as good.
When I've extracted everything I refill the pot with hot water as it has cooled down quite a bit, and i float the pyrex in there for 15 minutes or so. I then pour my mixture from the pyrex onto parchment paper which in my vac chamber, which is set at 120 degrees. From there I let it sit on the heat for an hour or so to degas before I turn on the vac.
So this time around after just an hour of vac I was left with a really nice incredibly stable crumble. Even at 120 degrees the stuff is hard/firm and somewhat brittle. Even if I squeeze it it doesnt stick together.
Other times when I do this I get a totally different product. Sometimes I get a brittle shatter or sticky goo.
On this particular run I processed 23oz of material and got 63.5 grams of crumble, on the rerun it looks like an oz of shatter instead of crumble. I'll also get another 10 grams of winterized product from leftover stuff in the pan that I remove with alcohol.
I just dont understand why my results are so inconsistent? Can someone shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance. First pic is the crumble, 2nd pic is the rerun still in the chamber
