today is the day all of my equipment finally arrives and I can start putting my grow room together. It's just a small bedroom but it seems huge compared to all the grow tent things I've seen.
Do you think I should put the mylar blanket things on the floor under the plants for maximum light reach? Or am I really over thinking it?

Mylar blankets (or any highly reflective mylar film for that matter) aren't good, they'll create hotspots because some sections will become like parabolic dishes and focus the beams into particular spots. At least IME, when I tried using it a long time ago. Even if you got it perfectly flat its not the right choice, but good luck trying. You want something that has some kind of texture to diffuse the light, even a few percent. Reflctix bubble wrap is better, or just get a roll of the proper stuff with the diamond pattern texture. They sell the same materials they use in the tents by the roll. Or just use white plastic or paint, etc..

Ya that stuff is great. I'm gonna recover all my walls with it someday too, and probably just use velcro or something similar to attach it. Way more durable.. and actually cheaper than reflectix bubble insulation (whichs needs a 1" air gap between it and the wall to have any extra r-value btw), thats for sure!. Wish I did it in the first place.

I would like to get a thick roll of it, and would use it on lots of stuff besides my grow op walls. Make custom sun blinds for all my vehicles, etc. Cover up my hydro systems, etc.

I agree here. I’d either go the diamond reflective lining or Panda Film route for best results. Personally I think Panda Film looks way better/cleaner but that’s just my opinion.

1. Ignore breeder times. When counting grow weeks, count up to harvest, not down. Not dismissing your experience, but I figure I would get it out of the way.

2. Create a plan for cooling and humidity control that suits your space. You can buy a big ol trash bin and a small dehumidifier, drill a hole in the lid of the trash can, and put a hose on the dehumidifier. This way she can run consistently as needed, and if you keep her clean, the water is usable.

3. Store towels in your grow area, trust me, you'll need it.

4. Either paint the room white or hang mylar everywhere.

5. If hanging lights from the ceiling, for the love of God make sure you're mounting to a strut.

Id make sure whatever youre stepping on is water proof rather than relflective. If you can have both then go fir it
