While I was hunting through another super store in my town for a cheaper alternative brands to fox farms ocean forest (didn't find anything of course), I happened across "Miracle Grow Organics" made with bat guano, worm castings, etc. Ten bucks for a 1.5 sack. Has anyone tried this stuff?

Miracle Grow didn't make something non-ghetto did they? My wallet hopes they did, my heart hopes it sucks. . .

Anyone know? I posted this in MJ general grow too just to see if anything hits.

i've used(and am using) MG Organic Garden soil, sounds about right for the price you mentioned
but doesn't have the nice bat guano or worm casing
it's mostly a wood waste/poultry litter compost
it can be tweaked to give good results, but it doesn't get much respect here, it has its quirks

Im using that stuff and my plants look the same in veg as they would with fox farm. They are 11 days into flowering and began to show sex after the 6th day. I payed $8 and cant complain about it and doubt I will. I will get pics up soon to show you guys what Im talking about, they might not be the best as the will be from my Iphone! I have only added earthworm casting and watered with phd water since begining till now and dont plan on using anything for at least another 2 weeks.

Grizz,
In Jan 2008, I was doing my very first grow here, and asked if there was anyway to speed it up.
some newb told me to add a little Miracle grow to the tank. We had some so I did. my plants were about 6 inches tall and within a day, ALL the leaves fell off all of them.

I hate Miracle Grow ................and I still don't take any advise from newbs ever again.

I used a bag of the Miracle Grow Organic Choice a year and a half ago. It was really light and fluffy, and was moist without feeling really wet. It seemed like it was mostly peat moss. The price was rigth, I mixed it with a bag of Scott's topsoil and I used it for an entire grow.

After that grow, I switched to Pro-Mix. Pro-Mix costs a little less by volume, but comes in big big bag. Last month I was low on cash, and couldn't swing $30 for the Pro-Mix, so I got a small bag of the Miracle Grow Organic Choice Potting Mix instead.

I was pretty disappointed. Instead of being full of peat moss, it was full of wet bark and grit. It almost seemed like the bag was full of wet ashes, or a shovel full of the remains of a camp fire.

I know quality varies from bag to bag. The first batch I bought way back when was great, but the most recent was shitty. I hope it was just a bad bag, and not a cheaper new recipe.
