Southern Maine Outdoor grow

last year my outdoor grow was ruined due to moose and my other spot due to slugs. This year i have decided to build cages and also to put out a container with beer to drown those slugs. I also noticed that thier was alot of ticks on my plants what are the chances these ticks helped with the destruction? and also any other suggestions on keeping animals away will be appreciated.

UGHH I HATE ticks so fuckin bad. I love all creatures on this planet except ticks, mosquitoes and cockroaches, spiders I have no problem with. The only tip i got is to use slug bait, I think beer is good slug bait for sure. Try pissing on trees around your grow or some shit, it might help to keep the animals away cuq they might smell the urine and be warned off cuz its not their territory

yea i piss every time i go i will be useing pro grow 5-3-4 it's all organic and contains cottonseed meal, alfalfa meal, feather meal, rock phosphate, kelp meal, cocoa meal, blood meal, fish meal, crab meal, dried whey, natural nitrate of soda, natural sulfate of potash, magnesium sulfate i used it last year and i smelt my plants from 50 feet it is good stuff. Beer is a paint-in-the-ass as slug remedy.

Use slug shields. They work and they last all season. Like, put them on and forget about slugs for the rest of the season. You can get them online and they ship quickly. They also stretch with plant growth. No brainer - they figured this one out for us. No maintenance!

I used them last season in the Northeast. My plants got eaten nearly to death - 90% gone in 2 nights! Put the shields on and two days later the leaves were growing again and continued to flourish - it stopped the slugs! Clear sailing the rest of the way.

Copper wire around the base of your plant and or stem for the slugs. I have no idea about the tics, I have never had one on my plants that I am aware of.

No, ticks won't bother your plants. But an infestation of anything is not good...they're there for a reason, and it's never a good reason. A couple ticks on your plant mean they're looking for a warm-blooded host to walk by, whereas a leaf covered with little critters means the plant is being eaten, and the plant is at risk.

Sometimes the bugs are just there to drink the mornng dew. But still they ALL get ya worried

im in maine also. copper wire for slugs, neem oil for the ticks and other bugs, and with cages i never had problems with deer or moose or anything eating anything.

i always have ticks on my fences, dont think they bother.

use chicken wire fences around each plant, buy a roll of chicken wire, make sure it has 2 inch holes and not 1 inch so the branches of the plant can grow through, i think i buy 3'x25' rolls. Cut off a section of chicken wire by cutting up the middle of the holes, this way you can twist the wire together to make a 3 ft fence that fits down over your plant. Anchor it in the ground with stakes made from surrounding sticks.
