Yea pretty much what I was thinking.

I planted straight to soil. Mind you I did top dress with a bag of black soil and I mixed in some nice wormy compost from my compost heap.

Anyone else just get hit by a heavy storm?
I just spend at least an hour standing in the rain desperately trying to straighten up all my flopped over stalks.
My northern has been flopped over for a week now bud lol!! This storm didn't make it any worse so i think i'm good, but yea she was pretty windy and rainy earlier.

Crazy lightning too at night

Ok I'm confused about how you even flush soil?

I didn't think you could
I also figured it wasn't needed if you don't use synthetic nutrients?
If it's easier to process, consider my mix a hybrid soil / hydro mix. I used 30 yr old jugs of hydroponic A&B nutrients formulated for rockwool for nutrients. I flushed it with water. I hope this clears up your confusion. It was a first for me and an unusual situation I'm sure.

I started harvesting today, I won't have nice weather again for days supposedly.

The storm is north of me so far.

Nice! What was your final yield with a 5gal pot?
52 grams of trimmed dried bud with 10-15 grams of trim.

I just harvested the northern lights in the 20 gallon, which was much fatter and had bud sites everywhere.. Oh mann this is my biggest yield ever, x3. no joke.

Amber triches, very dense big colas, smells great, NO MOLD!!!! SUCCESS

Pics coming soon i can barely type with my hash fingers right now, going to be trimming the fan leaves off all night haha

Plants got rocked by storm other day but nothing broke. Tightened up trellis netting and away we go. Hoping to push another 2-3 wks 5A7C0DAB-AF7A-4A46-A309-6764DB123388.jpegE4AE1B1C-FA71-4D5C-AF90-220765D9743C.jpegE09A866B-ACD1-4293-99B0-4F4772264D0D.jpeg

Y’all lucky. I had a few branches snap off my really big one in the ground. Still gonna harvest it thought. I did tie it up. I need to tie it better. Hoping it dries off in a bit and loses some of that weight that’s causing it to bend.

I had mine in a very windy area, throughout veg and the storms i would get so anxiety wondering how no branches break when they're bent more than 90 degrees from a strong wind gust haha! My thoughts when they survived were "Well, if they survived without damage it should only make them stronger"

Crazy how resistant they are to high winds (ONLY IF THE PLANT ADAPTS TO ITS CONDITIONS!)

Putting a plant with minimal wind its whole life out in a storm is another story. Last year one of my biggest mistakes was growing in the shaded wind block area of the grow spot i use. I did it out in the open this year and not only did i get no mold WITHOUT A COVER :) no spidermite problems as well!

Also noticed the more open area with better air flow must have had something to do with my plants having much thicker stems, overall healthier, more sun meant bigger buds and faster growing plants.

Makes me wonder how so many guys deal with mold but the common realization is most of the mold problems come from people with rain covers, or still spray their buds in flower. One big guess is bug problems must be a big part of mold, i had almost no bugs on my plants this year so no dead bugs meant no areas for mold to start perhaps? Just took a pic of the northern lights root ball, oh man. I remember my roots were brown last time i did outdoor LOL no wonder it was crap.

Was in the same 15-20 gallon pot for 4.5-5 months. (Not including seedling growth in smaller containers.)

When i start my plants indoor i go heavy with the wind to get their stems thick before i put them outside, the amount of wind i use will burn flower pistils, but when its vegging i find it makes the stems thick and sturdy.

I think next year I will go out and violently shake the plants each day
I've heard it works well to strengthen the stalks.

Weather coming up looks good.
Two more weeks!

I only did that starting after week 3-4 flower for the first time this year. After this harvest i'll say i'm not sure if it had anything to do with my results but i am going to be shaking my plants after every rain from now on!!

Just took down the 8 ball, she flowered and revegged as well as lost almost all the big fan leaves she had by week 5 of true flower somehow she pulled through, I was not amazed at the smell for the first 7-8 weeks of flower, but 2 weeks ago it started to smell better and right now it smells pungent, and sweet! Almost a ripe fruit smell now today, no mold on any of my plants this year so I didn't feel allergies at all while taking off the fan leaves before drying! here is a popcorn nug. She was about 7.5 - 8 feet tall. Was fun getting it inside the garage in one piece Screenshot_20191006-021947.pngScreenshot_20191005-191449.png

Anyone still pushing for a later harvest? Judging by the forecast I'm thinking I'll harvest next Friday Oct 11. Nice weather this week.
I was, wish I had cut her a few days ago. Ripper took her. Got all of it except a couple of wind damaged branches I took off. She needed a week or two longer.
Pretty sure it was my neighbour's shit licking son. He doesn't live there anymore, and I have no way to find him, but I know he visited recently and was asking his parents about it.
