I had mine in a very windy area, throughout veg and the storms i would get so anxiety wondering how no branches break when they're bent more than 90 degrees from a strong wind gust haha! My thoughts when they survived were "Well, if they survived without damage it should only make them stronger"
Crazy how resistant they are to high winds (ONLY IF THE PLANT ADAPTS TO ITS CONDITIONS!)
Putting a plant with minimal wind its whole life out in a storm is another story. Last year one of my biggest mistakes was growing in the shaded wind block area of the grow spot i use. I did it out in the open this year and not only did i get no mold WITHOUT A COVER
no spidermite problems as well!
Also noticed the more open area with better air flow must have had something to do with my plants having much thicker stems, overall healthier, more sun meant bigger buds and faster growing plants.
Makes me wonder how so many guys deal with mold but the common realization is most of the mold problems come from people with rain covers, or still spray their buds in flower. One big guess is bug problems must be a big part of mold, i had almost no bugs on my plants this year so no dead bugs meant no areas for mold to start perhaps? Just took a pic of the northern lights root ball, oh man. I remember my roots were brown last time i did outdoor LOL no wonder it was crap.
Was in the same 15-20 gallon pot for 4.5-5 months. (Not including seedling growth in smaller containers.)
When i start my plants indoor i go heavy with the wind to get their stems thick before i put them outside, the amount of wind i use will burn flower pistils, but when its vegging i find it makes the stems thick and sturdy.
