space shuttle grow : day 30 flower

been browsing the forum for a minute now learning from fletch and earl....amongst others.

i copied the space shuttle design from earl and am now in day 30 of flower.

450w hps hortilux
400w hps
nutes:
power flower
blast off


i got lucky with the plants, 6 seeds, 6 sprouts, 5 females, 4 keepers.

using a homemade yeast mix for the co2, got a couple box fans, and an exhaust fan mounted in the ceiling sucking into the attic.

question: is there anything i can do or add to make the buds thicker?

Looks like a very successful launch!

Light is the most important factor affecting bud size.

You are only in week four,
so be patient and wait for week 5-8.

What strain are you growing?
This will also affect the size of the bud.

growing a sativa/indica hybrid - the purps, aka mendo purp
got the seeds on a recent amsterdam excursion

got em under 950 hps - with another 4 weeks they should be nice and tasty!

being 4 weeks into flower - are they pretty much done vertically growing?

They may grow a little more.

I keep my 400w HPS at 16-21 inches,
until the last 3 weeks or so,
then I move the lights back to preserve flavour.

here we are again - day 41 of flower
the nutes are at full strength and the buds are really starting to fill out.....
and they are absolutely covered in trichomes

still got another two weeks i'm guessing - earl?

had one of the females that was the runt, flowered but never really got taller and fuller like the other plants...noticed yesterday that it had some pollen sacs popping out from underneath one of the buds.

it got whacked down today, trimmed up nice and the little buds are hanging in the closet - made up some brownies with the trimmings - waiting on them right now...

hopefully no pollen spread

Do you have a radio shack microscope?
They are around $15


They look very frosty.

Be patient and let the reach their full potential.

changing the rez, trying to fix window ac unit.

earl, i have not been monitoring the rez temp on this grow at all...and i know you use the chiller and all the insulation, will keeping the temp down at 68 degrees really help the ladies out?

I think the 68º temperature
is why I get the fat colas.

I never grew them like that,
until I started using the chiller.

I grew aero with rez temp in the low 80ºs,
and they were pretty normal.

I have two aero systems.

But the aero system
with the chiller,
grows faster and fatter.

that's just the answer i was looking for..

well i am using straight water now - no nutes to flush the ladies out...
today is day 50 of flower and i am thinking about cutting them in 5 more days.
