I decided to make another micro grow container. This time from five gallon buckets, 3 of which are cut and stacked for variable height adjustment. Design goes to Rollitup member: @ekrof. I saw his design and decided to construct my own, as I want to down scale my growing for a bit. I will add a layer of perlite or rocks at the bottom, under the coco, to help with drainage. I'm going to add a screen and heavily lst/top this plant in order to keep it contained with a spread out, even canopy. I'm going for 1 oz. dry yield whenever I do fire her up. This is what I have accomplished so far with my "SpaceBucket".
Supplies:
(4) 5 gl buckets
(2)lids for buckets
Roll of foil tape
Zip ties
(2) pc fans
12v ac adapter
Screws+nuts 8-32"
Electrical tape
(4) Bulb sockets
(4) 23-26w cfls
16-2 lamp cord+ socket
(1) container/cover for lighting wiring
Tools:
Box cutter
Flat/philips screwdriver
Pliers
Drill, soldering iron, or hot screwdriver
Perm. marker

I have the biggest part constructed, lined, and fans installed. I'll add more pictures as I finish it up.

Got it all taped up. It's about 99.5% lightproof. I shined a flashlight around it while in a dark room. Just have to knock out the light top and it'll be ready to rock and grow!

This is how my cfls will be installed in the light top, under a foil tape lined lid. The exhaust fan will suck the hot air directly away from the lights which will be all be included in the light top. I think it a going to be a cool little grow container for a small harvest; really just for the fun of growing.

It's pretty much complete. I'm still going to go back and add a carbon filter, a gravity fed hose watering system, and some detailing. But all is in working condition, so I'm ready to throw some dirt in it.

Diameter is 11 1/4". Minimum height from ground to light top "glass" is 13", and a max height of 20". My plant's grow space headroom ranges from about 6-12", depending on the soil level. I'm obviously going to do tedious training of the plant to keep it small, but I enjoy doing that.

I was curious because I've got a smallish cabinet myself. But, I'm unsure what to do first. I've got a limit of 1.2ft across. And 2.6ft height. That's without the bucket and light.

I was going to chuck in some of my bagseed. But, I don't know what they are genetics wise. Just that the smoke was good.

So, what would you put in yours? And could you suggest anything for mine, other than the random bag of seeds I have?

Sorry to hijack btw. Just thought I'd ask some questions.

No problem man. When I fire up my bucket to grow from in about a month I'm putting an autoflowering white widow seed in it. With autoflowering you get a plant that's going to grow very fast and produce a decent amount of bud. If you were to throw in some feminized, or regular seeds you would be able to top and lst to the plant to the dimensions you need, something you cannot do with autoflowering since they would not have time to recover. So, yes I'm using an autoflower but my next go around in the bucket I will definitely toss in a feminzed seed so I will have full control of the plant and control it's vegetative and flowering stages. If I were you I would order some Nirvana seeds from nirvana shop, like I did a few days ago, and get some seeds that you know are going to be females and a strain that you desire.
 
I like white widow. Great smoke that one. And yeah. I've been looking into lsting and fimming, topping. Was thinking I'd need to at least lst in my cab to keep the height down. And possibly raise yields.

How do you go about autos? I'm a relatively new grower. Never managed to get a harvest. Either I screwed up. It got eaten. Or heat wave fkd up my garden.

Does nirvana do discreet global shipping? I'm not exactly in a legal area?

Training the plant is my favorite part of the entire grow process. With autoflowers you don't need to change the light schedule from 24/0 or 18/6 to 12/12 to initiate flowering; the plant automatically switches to flowering from veg around week 3, regardless if the plant is getting 18 hrs of light or 1 hour of light per day. That's why I say using regular bag seeds or feminized seeds would be easier, because you control the veg and flower phases and can control everything about the shape and size of the plant. And yes, nirvana is pretty much world wide, with a few exceptions. And it is discrete shipping. You wouldn't have any idea as to what the package contained by looking at it. Shipping to California, United states was $2 usd

You'll fuck up an autoflower if you try to top it too.
 
I'm definitely interested in seeing how your grow goes man.

I'm about ready to get something in my cabinet. Just needs a few tweaks on light proofing and proper venting/scrubbing.

Oh. And I read about not topping autos just before.

dude this is a really badass grow. Holy Shit, i've never seen anything like this before and I stay on Stealth grow section for the past few years. I have a PC Grow box that's in remission, it won't go up until I move. But could you send me a tek on the lights config, I was wanting to do something like that rather than have two power strips. Also check out my past grow journals.

I reckon you could do a COB light version and get some real longevity from the system.
 
I don't know, I'd like to look into that, but right now i'm trying to keep it simple before i move on to complicated. I tend to inundate myself with hobbies so if this is something that I continue to do, which i think i will i'll move into that. right now i got a lot of studying to do... unless you know how to, you can share the info
