Spida's Micro Grow

So I went to Lowes today and picked up hopefully everything that I need to make this grow successful and yield a good amount for my size box. This will be my first journal as well as my first grow. Below is what I have, and what still needs to come as well as how I plan to grow them, lighting, box specs, Nutrients etc. This grow is dedicated to having the bare minimums while growing. Cost efficient growing. Happy smokin' all, wish me luck. Also picked up a couple cans of chew to help me get through typing this whole mess and building of my box. I am also considering building a separate tiny mother/clone box. Although it is a tiny early to start the grow journal, I am going to anyways, because I am bored and seeds already have a tiny taproot, so shouldn't be long anyhow.

Plant Nutrients, Equipment, Etc.

I already have soil and pots so I didn't need any of that, but I went out to pickup some supplies today. I'll include the list of stuff and the prices. Picked up all the stuff I've heard was recommended. Enjoy.

- Miracle Grow Bloom Booster Flower food. Water soluble powder. 1.5 Lbs for $4.97 (x 1)

- Superthrive Vitamins-Hormones for $9.97. I heard it was good. (x 1)

- Schultz Plant Food. 10-15-10. 4 Fl oz for $2.97 (x 1)

- Green Light Powdered Rooting Hormone 2oz for $4.97 (x 1)

- Light + Moisture + PH Meter for $7.97 (x 1)

I also picked up some wood for building my box, some L-Brackets/Hinges/Lock ing latch for the box, along with a couple 40watt Cfl's. Also got some ballasts for the lights.

Construction will begin on Monday of the box, and hopefully everything goes good. I would do it today, but I am extremely tired from work, and am going to be busy this weekend. Sorry for the delay.

Seeds - I have 4 Sour Diesel Seeds and 1 Purple Strain Seed in germinating right now. Can't wait. All bag seed. Was thinking if I got one of the purples or the SourD to be males then I could get some pollen and make a Hybrid, I think its called, of some PURPLE SOUR DIESEL! Tell me if this has been done before

Box Specs - 1.5ft W x 1.5ft L x 2.5ft H. Will be sealed off with silicone, and joined together using L Brackets. Hinges are just basic hinges, and I have a lockable latch going onto the door to keep unwanted guests out. I will have one intake PC fan, and one exhaust PC fan, which still need to be bought, and I was possibly going to put 1 Small 4" Oscillating Fan inside to keep air moving right. I will be either painting the insides white, or I will be putting up emergency blankets. Not sure yet, but would like suggestions.

Lighting - (2)40Watt Cfl's and (1)26watt Cfl. Might add another for sides. The people at lowes we're absolutely no help so I couldn't find Y-splitters at all.

Growing style - I'm going to grow the first ones probably just normal, find a mother plant, and keep the mother for clones. I will take clones about 2 weeks before the first regular plants are put through so I can let them root and have a perpetual harvest. About 5 clones every 2 weeks should work and I won't get more then 20 clones in the box at one time. I will flower them as soon as they root, aiming for one massive cola in a SOG style. The first grow I might do a scrog until I get the clones though. The SOG will be done Dr.BudGreenGenes style. Planting at first will be done just in soil, but I was debating about rockwool cubes, but for now nothing is for sure.

Nutrient Feeding - Don't know! Didn't want to do nutes for the first 2-3 weeks, but the superthrive might be able to help it grow faster. Will need help with how much to water and how much to use for a certain size plant so I do not drown it or nute it to death. Suggestions. Use nutes listed above.

Overall Cost - $99.87 That is without PC fans, soil or pots though.

N I havent heard of diesel Xd with Purps personally, but chances are its been done before. If you do do it, dont call it purple diesel, call it somethin like, Unleaded, or 2cycle, or some shit like that, lol.

Thanks do you have any suggestions or recommendations about this set-up and specifically nutrients and when to use and how much? I will post pictures of me planting the germinated seeds tomorrow. I will just wire up my ballasts and make a make-shift holder for my ballasts, and just grow them in a closet, until my box is ready. Will be either grown in regular soil that has Bat guano, worm castings, etc OR Miracle grow with tap water. I saw this in Buds For less and he used Miracle Grow with 7.8 PH water to equal out the soil and water.

K1: 1st grow period. I have tried before, but over watered and it never sprouted, so this time I'm trying to get exact specifics on how much to water so I don't kill them. And ya that would be hilarious, I should call it unleaded if I can cross it. Unleaded or Unleaded Premium. Hahaha. Can only hope mine turns out as well as yours is going.

ive got some seeds germinating since yesty so ill post some pics of them n compare em to urs on the way hahaha

you can get your seeds into soil as soon as they open. you dont need to get the tap root out.
i have some recipes for ya.
the most imprtant thing if your going to use mg or schultz is start at 1/8 instead of 1/4 and keep it low.

With soil I will be trying 2 different kinds. I will be using miracle grow soil with two, like in Buds for Less, and see how it turns out, and I will be using this other soil with bat guano, worm castings, etc. I will have to go find the name of it.

Bonz - Shoot some nute recipes my way. I'm hoping these nutes are the best choice of nutes.

EDIT: These were my friends seeds, so I'm hoping they will grow, cus he couldn't grow them right. They are just germing in a regular waterbottle, and will be planted asap. Just wired up my lights, and those babies work like a charm!

Supertrive is an addictive not a nute you can give it to her at 2weeks or earlier if you please.

I don't know if ballast is the word for it, but I will be taking pictures a little later of lights. For now, I will just have the lights hanging in my closet until I get my box constructed on monday. I am going to use two 40watt cfl's. Lumens was 5200 together. I will be adding some 26watt cfls in later on to help with flowering and side growth and development. Thanks for the information about the Superthrive. If that's the case I'll start feeding her a little bit of that around week 2. Do i have to go 1/4 or 1/8 strength or is it just fine to use at full recommended dose? Glad to have you on the grow mane.

i never used superthrive but a regular dose of the bottle should be fine.

So you got the sockets for ya lights.... e27 sockets i guess...

If u are gona grow with the bigger cfl's & hps you will need an e40 socket..

So, i am guessing this is your very first grow ever ?

you can get some bigger wattage for side growth if you want; 65w, 82w, 105w are great.

And also with the CFL's I was trying to get highest wattage I could find and 65 was the highest, but I didn't have enough money to get them, so I will upgrade later.

oh ite, you can always just add in flower anyway, I'd try and have at least an added 65w(on-top of what you already got) per plant during flower.

I hope you can find those socket splitters they are great.
