so i bought some clones and its been 3 days and I am seeing signs of spider mites. I'm new to growing and I'm not sure the best way to take care of this pest problem because of the confined space. I am using a cabinet i bought from Walmart and wired up some pc fans and installed a 125 watt fluorowing CFL grow light. the demencons are 23w x 27 h x 11 d heres some pics of the little ones.

#1 take your plants out and bleach the cabinet. Let it air out a bit.
#2 make a spray of neem and dish soap. 2 tbsp of neem and a few squirts of dawn regular dish soap ( or any other non anti-bacterial normal dish soap ) per gallon. You can use just dish soap if you can't get neem oil.
#3 spray every 5 days until new spots stop forming. Let them dry off a bit before you put them back under the light or you will cook them.
#4 spray again when everything seems cheerio.

Cleanliness is the best way to fight mites and leaving dirt debris laying around is asking for problems. I automatically spray clones I get. It is much easier to stamp them out early.

Ladybugs are a waste of money. They harvest them belly full right before they begin their mating season. When you get them all they want to do is mate, not eat.

wow i sprayed the plants (top and bottom), sucked up the top layer of soil, sprayed the under laying soil, and re cleaned the grow cabinet. I woke up today and checked the girls and see promising results so far, leafs are perking up and spots are fading. :-)

Pricey, but totally worth it. get urself a gallon (anything less is uncivilized) of MIGHTY WASH, and pick up a HOT SHOT " NO PEST" strip. Spray plants with Mighty Wash, wait 3 days do it again, Then another 3 days once more if you wish to be safe. Place the Hot shot strip in your grow area, will help prevent a new infestation for 3-4 months.

Always spray your new clones you get from people, and quarantine them for a week to make sure.

mighty Wash i....... I have had a gallon for a while and have never replaced it with anything else.......so when you stop at one product.....you know it works.....you can use it all the way to the day of harvest with no more risk then some water sprayed on the buds... (thought i dont advise) its odorless and I have taken a sip of it with no side effects ( i do advise its delicious) it is electriclly charged water that zaps em.

ok thanks!! the girls are only a week from clone, so I'm trying to stay away from the advise of the grow shop in my area, and get rid of them.

so i used the mighty wash and i came home and it looks like some of the fan leafs are burning. is this because i stuck them under the light too soon?

probably. its advisable to spray before lights come on, at least 30 min, but i give em an hour.

Follow this but wait 3 day intervals for new eggs to hatch. Turn plants upside down usually to spray under leaves.
