Spider mites. Where do they come from??

With clones and small plants, you can kill spider mites and eggs before putting in your grow room. You need a garbage can with a loose fitting lid.. Put the plants in the bottom of the can.. Add a couple pounds of dry ice, not touching the plants.. The dry ice will sublimate into co2.. Overnight will kill any living thing.. I've left plants in for 24 hours with no harm to the plant..

Id reccomend slow release sachets they will breed and last 4 weeks in optimal conditions...

Mites travel with the wind, on your body... so if your room has open doors or intakes that are not filtered(broad and russets will get through these) or if you dont use clean room protocals with floor foot baths and ISO spray downs...its inevitable really
What temps do they live and die in

they live outside, if you go outside, they can hitch a ride on your clothes and you carry them inside...the only way to really avoid them is to stay away from outside plants, as far as i know they won't hop off of a plant unless you are in contact with it...
if you have houseplants, they can get them and then every plant in your house will get them, too....
they do travel on their own, when looking for new food sources, and can be sucked in by fans and ac...
lots of ways to get them, best way tto keep them from being a problem is to treat thoroughly at the very first sign of them....by thoroughly, i mean at least three treatments, three to four days apart, to catch subsequently hatching eggs....

I’m talking about the predator mites. And they mites travel in wind. You do not have to come in contact with a plant because I do not have any other plants except the ones I smoke

the thing about predator mites is you're going to have to keep getting them...they have to have something to eat, and a good environment to breed...you aren't going to be able to supply a constant source of food, and don't want to be able to, because that would mean you had a constant mite problem....
so be ready to keep ordering them every time you get mites.

Getting rid of mites that are present is a little different protocol than preventing mites from coming in.

Getting rid of mites, means killing the adults and also killing the eggs and larvae.

Thought this chart I found online might be helpful to people dealing with mites. It points out the relationship between the timing of mite development and temperature. I'm thinking humidity is a factor too.

I have one ?? Why do outdoor grows not get mites all the time if they are so easy to bring inside from outside ???
Outdoor plants DO get mites. It's harder for the infestation to get out of control compared to indoors, given the elements and predators, but outside plants can get overwhelmed by mites.

Both cannabis and mites began life as outdoor things...there wasn't any "indoor" going on, to speak of, not too long ago.

I have one of Those plants that look like elephant ears on the side of my pool 20 feet from the door to my grow room. It looks pretty bad talking about the condition of its leaves I guarantee you they were infested with mites and blew into my room. It’s not a veiny leaf so not sure if it gets mites

It seems I have them under control. Can barley find Any. I rinsed all my monster cropped clones 3 times under a hose and sprayed with this and my 3 Autos are under the sun today Even found one or two on them Hoses as well and sprayed with fungicide 3 —- has neem oil in it image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

The first thing I did was plug all the leaves that where infested and showing visible damage. I’m putting in 72 hrs dark tonight. It’s a shame. When I hosted them-down some of the big buds. Where so heavy they just bent. Even supported them directly under the bud. Super cropping seven weeks into flower LOL

Not necessarily true, as long they have food and the correct temperate environment they will breed.

You can buy food for your predetory mites to keep up latent populations but why...

Once their food source is gone the problem is gone and you can focus on more preventative then controls

Then you wont need to order them till you scout more bad bugs

Edit

And you basically said all this, i just dont know how to read..my bad

M-pede will yield a 97% success kill rate of all stages of life with a 3min soak in a 1% solution. Not for blooming plants

You may want to consider continuing to spray with something even after it looks like they're gone, at least until a few hard frosts or snow, when the danger of reinfecting from the outside is minimal. They're sneaky fuckers.

Ok so do mites invade plants like this ??? They are right outside the door to my grow space. Should I eliminate them in the spring?View attachment 4408892View attachment 4408893View attachment 4408894
Well anything green outside could have mites although they definitely don't like certain plants. You could simply treat the ornamental plants with something like avid or floramite, even better in a rotation. Then you want have any mites on them and there won't be issues with any mites building a resistance to products you would wanna use in your grow. You don't want to have a barren landscape around the home so just grab a backpack sprayer and spray them monthly. Make sure that your intake fans are off if spraying near them.
