Spider Mites?

I am growing my first plant, and it is going to be 5 weeks old tomorrow. This morning though, I saw a little tiny white bug in the soil. Ive been looking up stuff about spider mites, and ive read that they dont really go in the soil. Ive checked my leaves really good like three times now, and only leaf has the little yellow dots that spider mites leave.
I read they might be some kind of gnat, are they harmful? Oh, and whatever they are, they kinda jump. like a flea.
So can anyone tell me wtf is in my soil and how i can get rid of them?? :-(

well i think the cheap way to get rid of them is to use non anti-bacterial dish soap and water, not a lot of soap.
There is a lot more ways to kill them with household items but i think most people use neem oil.

just google neem oil and or ways to kill spider mites and you should get a good idea of how to get rid of them. good luck to you.

not mites, you can barely see them and they are either red or black. I believe what you've got are springtails.
A good organic spray is pyrethrum. Not sure how harmful they are anyways. Pray you never get mites.

I read up on springtails, and everything ive seen says that theyre harmless or even benifcial. If they wont kill my plant ill probably let them stay. but ive only seen a few, and im afraid theyll multiply pretty soon:cry:
its indoors and id flip my shit if they get out of the pot(i have a mega bug phobia)
