Spouse of a Medical Marijuana Patient at risk of losing job

If a teacher for a school district (a very conservative school district) has a spouse who is a medical marijuana patient, will that teacher be at risk of losing her job? Even though the teacher doesn't smoke?

Just wondering since A) I'm married to a teacher, and B) I have seen various reports in the news of teachers who are patients losing jobs, and also of teachers who are married to people who commit serious crimes (murder, large scale drug crimes, etc) losing their jobs. Not sure if they are correlated in any way. Just don't want to screw over my spouses career.

This is in the state of Arizona.

Thanks

they can fire you for any or no reason in AZ.

my wife has to take her purse upstairs and wash her hands after she leaves the house before going to work at harvest time around here. if she touches a doorknob i've touched or leaves her purse downstairs where i trim then the stink of harvest travels all the way with her to work.

Wow, husband of the year award right here.

"Honey, I'm going to stay home and not do anything but play with my weed, if that's any inconvenience for your professional career, you can just work your life around it. "

Geezer dude, if it's that bad you should trim your shit someplace else.

i'd choose her over weed...

Me too. I haven't smoked in years for that exact reason. I quit because it was illegal in our home state and I refused to risk her career. But we just moved to AZ. I thought maybe I could get some help with my back pain. I flat out refused to take the doctor's pills

As long as she tests negative on a drug test, I'd say she would have a wrongful termination suit on her hands if it happened.

AZ employers can't just fire you for whatever reason they want. Wrongful termination is wrongful termination no matter what state you live in.

most of the time i carry her purse upstairs for her before i begin trimming.

doesn't matter where i trim, when the dogs need to go outside they go out the same door which i open.

nice try though bignbushy. one day you may manage a harvest, maybe even one that smells like cannabis. probably not though.

Buck, you're still sacrificing. ... no wait you're forcing your wife to sacrifice for you.

How's life as a housewife, buck?

Since she wears the pants and wakes up and goes to work during the day, if she ever has to clean a thing or cook a thing, outside of her expressed wish to do so, it makes you a lousy spouse.

considering i tore down my two greenhouses and had to forgo about $30,000 in lost income along with two months without a crop while burning through all my savings so we could move out to colorado, i'd say i've sacrificed plenty.

if she has to wash her hands before work, oh well. it comes with being a grower's wife. she gets all her weed for free (about $5000 worth a year) for the hassle.

we did a seafood bake tonight. red potatoes diced well, bicolor sweet corn cut into quarters, scallops, jumbo shrimp, and wild cod soaked in butter, olive oil, a little salt and pepper, and a dash of lemon juice at the end. throw the potatoes and olive oil in a glass bowl and then into the oven for 15-20 minutes or until they soften a little, then add the corn and seafood, throw it back in for another 12-15 minutes and voila.

i have not yet done the dishes. gotta run the dishwasher first. i think i'll do that now.

that's my favorite.

i like the hot italian sausage, but the wife has that infamously jewish constitution and can't handle spicy foods. or dairy. or glutens.

so we get the mild, drop the sausages in about an inch of water, set it to high, and cook until the water evaporates. turn down the heat, add the garlic, onions and sweet bell peppers, and cook until the peppers soften.

mine gets served on italian bread, hers on rice.

you are welcome at my place anytime. let me know if you ever head out to colorado.

Uhhh...WHAT?!?
How much are QPs in your part of America? That's either some jacked pricing or a copious quantity of lamb's bread.
That's like 2 g/day. I'm not saying it's impossible, but that seems a little high for a professional.
Does she roll a couple blunts when she gets home from work or something? Or does she blow through 1/2 Ozs. on the weekends?
