Sprouting under light or in the dark?

I'm sorry if this is a retard question, btu I'm terribly confused.

Once the seeds germinated and were put in the soil, are they supposed to be put under a light or in the dark? I keep hearing/ reading different directions.

Some say put in the dark and expose to light when it sproutes.

Some say put under light right after planting.

What is the right thing to do?

Sorry again if that's a retard question. :hump:

you can do it anyway......... put it under light when it pops out the soil for sure...but you can have it dark while its in the soil or you can put the light on it while its in the soil as wel.....me personaly put the light on it soon as i drop the seed in the soil ...i get good results

i put seeds in cup with water and put in dark then they pop open i put in dirt under the light a few days later they pop threw dirt and my light is already on them ....i guess it dont matter but my seeds are done in my clone room and that runs on 18 hours of light so who knows they may pop up in the dark and i dont know makes no difference .....i think though if your seed is above the soil why not have the light on it

Just one more quick question.

I planted 3 seeds in the soil (after they germinted) and had 300W cfl on them  none sprouted so far (4 days) - is it possible that I murdered my seeds?

Same all, same all. As long as the seed is in total darknes under the soil. When it pops out, it will just meet a MH or CFL light, which plant needs immediatelly ;)

how deep did you plant them in the soil?

if you running a cfl - keep it close to the seedling... if it is too far your stem will start stretching and falling over.. this is bad mmmmmkay

also a fan gently blowing on the seedling will help strengthen the stem

I have tried it both ways. I have better luck with germinating the in paper towels then rockwool or soil, depending. I seem to kill every seed when I give them full sun before they get a little older. Mostly I just germ then plant with part sun, like a window then progress from there

make sure u put a fan on them to stregthen those stems or there gonna be floppy that is very important imo not to close just a bit to get a lil plant movement to much your blow them down and remember to keep moist fan will dry them out quick
