Sprouts don't grow

Hello there, I have got to be the worst grower in the world.

So I've germinated nine seeds, 3 at a time. Each 3 are from different packs, so it's not a dodgy batch of seeds.

I am using a 250w MH for veg at about 2.5ft away. I first used Biobizz lightmix, then switched to root riot cubes, both with the same results.

All of my plants sprout, then do not grow any further. The cotyledons don't get any bigger, and simply start off green, then start going yellow, and then dying.

I don't think it's a case of overwatering as I only water at the start and wait till it dries. But I think it's strange, or I must be doing something really wrong for not one set of true leaves to appear from 9 seeds in 3 different grow attempts.

Starting to consider giving up, any help please guys?

I looked up Biobiz lightmix. I have a feeling that gave it too much to process that early in life. A seedling will grow on it's own with correct ph balance for at least 7 to 10 days, I start using ¼ recommended mix of any nutrients after 10 to 14 days. You might even be underwatering a bit. Don't give up - You will get this step down!

Yeah that's what I thought, so I switched to the root riots. But it appears that isn't the case, I believe it's due to a lack of root growth since I don't get any coming out of the cube.

I haven't used any nutes till two days ago, I applied some root excelurator which hasn't appeared to do much as of yet.

The plants are becoming even more yellow; what should I do to save these?

imo if your seedlings are yellowing off, you are overwatering them or keeping the medium too wet for them. what do you mean you only water at the start and wait until it dries-do you mean you wet the root riot cube? did you put it into dirt/medium?

I have the root riot in the tray, I put them in water for 10 mins, then drained them. I then put the paper towel germinated seed in. Then I don't water for a couple of days till its pretty much bone dry.

Okay, so I wanna get to the end of this. I've uprooted it, and this is what I've got. After about a week, the root is about an inch. I believe my issue is no root growth, any explanation for why this is constantly reoccurring?

Don't let it get bone dry. It can take it for a little while then it can shock it a little bit... oh crap I just looked at your photo... it's pretty much gone. sorry, try again...

I get about 99% of the seeds to get going in soil that is labled for "seedlings." After the seed has poped in germination I do the following. Drop seen in a small hole where seed head is on top of soil. I like the root part of the seed to be at least ½ inch long. Cover the seed head with a leaf for shade while it's making it's way. Aftter being put in that soil it just gets ph correct water for 7 to 10 days, then ¼ reccommended of nutrient mix.

Okay, I'll give that a go. Any idea based on the picture into what actually went wrong? Overwatering? Underwatering?

Christ...

You need a low NPK soil. Something like 3-2-2 or 3-1-1 would be good. Water once a week only. Don't fuck about with additives for root growth, humidity domes and all this other bollocks. Cannabis myth the lot of it.
