Spuds Green Crack Grow

The girls seem to be getting worse. The only thing i can put it down to now is that theyre hungry. So ive given them their first proper feeding. 20% of the recommended fose of canna a + b and 1ml per lire of calmag. Hopefully they pick up now.

Ah dose man! They're nearly a month old though, definitely time for nutes! Hopefully you'll see some improvements in the next week.

Yeah but theyre a bit behind because of the cold weather at first. Yeah hopefully man fingers crossed
 
Temps are meant to dip again over the next few days, snow predicted too, that won't help you much! I'll be praying to mary jane for ya...
 
So the girls just kept getting worse so today i flushed them real good. Hopefully they bounce back after this and ill start with an even lower dose of nutrients when the pots have dried out a bit

Came back home today while i was away the girls were fed 10% of the recommended does of a+b. They seem to have bounced back after the flush.

Just caught up here friend, nice setup I'm going coco next too.

From what I read your supposed to feed every time to 20% run off

And never let them dry out because the salt buildup is real in coco but you really can't over water once their established coco just doesn't retain enough water to drown our plants.

When you flush with straight water, the plant and medium seek an equalibrium so by having low ppm nutes you actually draw nutes out of your plant.

I'm sorry also I missed if your doing drain to waste or recirculating.
I hope it's drain to waste?

Are you using tap water or reverse osmosis?

Yeah drain to waste im doing. And i use tap water but have been letting it sit with an air stone in my res for about 12 hours before i use it.

Also chose against fabric, because it can dry out the edges quick if your not using extra nutes solution to keep up. Their better for soil.

Square 2 gal pots with good good drainage on the bottom.

And do you runoff 20% your plants look pretty dry
 
I have hard water i think and the ppms are 90. I was thinking of going down the route of RO water but dont know where id put the filter as i fill my res with water from the bath because its easier lol. Yeah that video had some nice info most of it i knew already as ive used coco before. I always water to runoff but havent done so this run as im trying to not overfeed and feed the right amount therefore no runoff is needed. I use a couple different ways to know when they need a feed. Checking how heavy the pots are and sticking a finger in the medium .
 
Run off is easier to manage than to try and get your dose and wetness perfect.

Runoff will wash away the excess shit and give you a little wiggle room

At the minute im indecisive as i hate having to empty runoff. I use to have a flood table with holes under the plants to catch the runoff but got rid to save some height. I also have an idea to maybe buy a wet vac to make emptying runoff alot easier but again im just unsure lol
 
Shop ac might be the answer. I've seen a guy use a 3gal bucket in a 5 gal bucket and the 5 gal has a drain near the bottom and that's sitting and inch off the ground and it drains into a bucket that he empties. He's got like 5 plants on this system works pretty good

Feed every time never just use straight water

You should have a res setup and a pump to feed it once or twice or more a day since you have those fabric pots their prone to drying and salt buildup around the edges
