That residue will just build up doesn't damage the nail at all. You can't degrade ti with the butane torches very easily or at all. you gotta get that thang hot before it does damage. White residue will build up on the pad, which most uninformed people believe is oxidation, it is not. It's just the left over residue burning again and assign up. It collects on the pad and makes it look degraded and messes with taste. It can be scraped off with a metal pic. Heat your ti anywhere that it doesn't heat your glass up IMO.
Ya, except I barely use Butane. :) Any flame that hits 3600(f)-6000(f) will for sure leave it on there. The butane torches seem to leave a different resipoo, and thats more from when the nail isnt hot enough rather than anything else....... Given this, the top of the nail does have wear and usage associated with the heat and the sheer number of uses........ Damn I'd pay to be home with my camera right now to make this look easier :) :) :)

So my Uncle, who is 65 years old, always has chronic back pain and problems and stiffness tried a hit of herb for the first time in his life tonight.......... He's very happy. :) I gave him a couple spoons I brought and the rest of the herb to smoke ('round an ounce). The oil should last me till I get home easily, and I just hope he has fun with it. :)

ahh i see, Dont use propane torches on ti if you want to keep it forever. I mean i understand its much much cheaper but ti is pricey. It can get too hot and as noticed by research kitty reacts differently with the metal giving it even more white haze in my experiences. I have a ti pad thats almost 2 years old i would say that is still in perfect condition ill have to get picures. All my nails have less use but are in perfect shape aswell. I heat it from the bottom and no reaction there but still have some residue burn in so its got a white haze but it scrapes off.

The only ti i have seen degraded has been hit by a gtt and it was messed up haha

great story about your uncle! my father was turned beleiver the same way but he really dislikes the high from it so he only breaks it out once his back is killing him. He says it litterally clears the pain sometimes before he exhales, crazy!

i have 2 different T pads. one is twice as thick as the other. the thinner one gets a heavy "crust" built up were i drop my dabs. i have to heat my pad and scrape it off with a pick to clean it. i'm about ready to blast a hole thru it. the thicker one doesn't seems to get this crust. it could be different grades of starting material. some pads could be of lower quality.

i saw some badass sandblasted ones recently. i want one.

hmm good point fdd all mines from the same company and real thick. There def is variation in quality of grade 2 ti but i wonder if its enough to make it degrade or not degrade.

I saw some kuhns pads that were blasted looked pretty cool.

You seen the 4.0 nano pads? Those are where its at imo,

Still a sweet pad... What is the black in it made from then? If it's colored differently than the TI?

Or is it just TI that got altered somehow (for the design)?

Its not black. It just looks black. Its just the shaved away metal looks darker than the polished. Looks bad ass when heated. The logo looks red and you could Prolly brand yourself with it.

Ah ok ground away :) Cool!

So, additionally, the logo acts as a channel to spread the oil around and vaporize it evenly :).

The nail I'm using that has been the center of the gunk attention is a Highly Educated ti nail, 19mm size, grade 2 titanium, and their second revision (not the one you can unscrew from the base, which is v3 I think?)

And dankshizzle that sucks about the logo!

How comes that bubbler?

It seems like it spreads the heat out and evenly heats the pad. No dry hits. Heat one side and it all glows.
Bubbles comming. Dish n dome are done
Those nanos are dope. I was trying to win one on toke city with that monster curve n kuhns

yea we got some nano in our shop so delicate looking and feeling. A friend has one from the first batch that was all lefty too so it was extra precarious dabbing it.

Also never dabbed a he nail, only power ti for me. I do work for the company indirectly though so im a bit biased. Here's the chemical make up of it and it being milled right here in Colorado. 329083_221950294534686_131281630268220_640513_634808847_o.jpg332779_215204341879509_100001698339808_591862_431075955_o.jpg
