New York City Diesel is getting dank but still quite a bit out...getting some purple hues in the tips of leaves

Super silver Haze (my favorite) forming up...got a bit outta control but I'm happy. this is around day 33-34 for both the NYCD and SSH in flowering. The SSh has a few weeks to go-I figure around early to mid january their clones are thriving now and i needed to upsize the solo cup for the NYCD at day 34 veg.

Looking really good, great job! Never heard of a melon/grapefruit diesel, sounds like a great pheno you got. I am growing a purple diesel, it has a pine/diesel scent.

Thank you! Yes the pheno is very melony and getting quite purple, likely from the cold. she will get some blue hues too I'm told. Seems abut 3-4 weeks out but flowers are all still widening a bit. The room smells overwhelmingly delicious! Super silver on one side and nycd on the other! ;-) Seems like you fought some gnats there for a bit if I remember right? I have been pre-treating my soils with gnatrol (bacteria) with good success. The buggers never saw it coming!

Right on, prevention is way better than the cure! Wish I had taken the same step. The gnats ended up spreading a mysterious fungus to the roots that killed one of my clones from the inside out... had to kill 3 additional clones to stop the spread. Now I know why they are call fungus gnats. I am using mosquito dunks (same bacteria)to keep them at bay along with neem drenches.

The real bad bugs are spider mites and root aphids (very tough to eradicate). I have spotted about a dozen root aphids recently but haven't seen any mites for about a month.

Investing in some neem for preventative soil drenches and some azamax ($25 for 4oz) for mite and other bug control might be a good idea. If you see a mite treat it like an act of thermo-nuclear warfare! I grow in a garage and have a cat so that contributed to my problem I think. Definitely dont go directly into your grow area if you have been outside in grass or on a hike etc.

Yeah, I feel really lucky to have never had mites! They look like a terrible thing to have infesting my girls! I use quite a bit of preventative-I spray the outside perimeter leading to my grow area with strong ant type raid and that seems to work wonders. I'm building a organic super soil now for my clones - they are gonna be mamas now that I have seen how great they came out! I doubt it matters but I also use landscaping plastic as sort of bag surrounding my 5gal buckets -I did this to prevent tray spills from getting out of hand but think it helps prevent bugs from finding my roots. Thanks again for the compliment-this has been a good (and somewhat lucky) reintro to growing! Next run I think my hazes will be main lined and the nycd as is-I like a plant with natural Christmas tree shapes and the nycd gets thick!

Well it is time for a scrubber...made one today (diy plans)-easy to build -I'll follow up when its up and runnin...it smells good in here but too good right now...Ill post a pic of the shell before I fill it. It was cheap to make and refillable.

This is the start of week 7, showing larger growth on the NYCD and SSH is bulking up slowly and yellowing about 30% fan leaves from the bottom up. I figure SSH is ready in about 25 days or so, NYCD has a bit more to go. Smell became an issue so I read up and built a scrubber that works better than expected-very effective-highly recomended!

SSH:

and of course...the scrubber-seriously-it works really well! Make one an stop thinking about it-cheap to make, refillable...

happy farming!

Been a nice turn of the year. I pulled a few early samples. Taste from SSH is amazing as expected (and very strong smelling). SSH has about 70% orange hairs and the trikes are clouding up-waiting for a bit of amber for my preference. About a week left...most fan leaves yellowed and many have been removed-sticks n buds left mostly

The NYCD is taking her sweet ass time but ticked out pretty good when I returned from vacation-she is full yet still fattening-may be two weeks to go still-I calculated about 10 days from now but she still has plenty of new pistil growth! The sample I pulled from this one was extremely strong so I am excited to see the result. Pics to follow later.

Well harvest happened and I am so happy! I managed to yield about 1.5 oz of super silver haze and about 2 oz of New York City diesel. This was from two plants vegged at 30 days under 300w hid then 400w hps at flowering. Both have completed curing and are AMAZING. I have my pharmacy to thank for the amazing genetics - my mamas are doing great and even spit some kids out already - I'm a happy daddy :) Ill post pics later of the jars and some close ups. Next run will be the full 400w veg so that should help yield I think and I plan to veg longer than thirty days the next time so I expect much better results. I only gave 400w at flowering. Can't wait to see the results next time!

Smoke report:
Super silver 9/10
Nycd 8/10

Both last a nice long time and vape very well!

I did not process the trim yet but am going with alcohol extraction :)

Where'd you find your instructions? Made a nice looking unit. Was it the Diesel given you a hefty smell? How was the SSH for smell at flower? I got some SSH I will be doing soon. I don't use scrubbers yet.

Hahahahaha your name made me crack the fuck up!!! Nice. I found my instructions on a different site but there is one on here too-I run my scrubber vertical on the floor just fine :) the right instructions will give a small set of cfms to go with 4",6" etc. just build it add some carbon and you will be happy. I believe it was the the two combined...I will have to take better care as to my exhaust routing. I routed the scrubbed air and heat into the house for warmth but my vent blew towards the front door of our place. When I realized I needed a scrubber it was because I could smell it on my front porch. SSH was likely the culprit-she's a stinky bitch-good but stinky if you get the good genes. I lucked out and got some pretty legit stuff. Basically if you are flowering a super silver you will want a scrubber. Just do it-you won't be sorry and buy the carbon from your local pet store for like $11 in a blue half gallon milk carton container-good stuff-grainy! Pics to follow soon-I've been really busy

IMG_6356.jpgI harvested this SSH clone a touch early but she flowered for 68 days and well...she is SUPER silver HAZE :fire:

Seriously though, SSH is a great grower but likes to be branchy so watch out! I will note (although could be based on the age of the mother plant?) this girl likes to clone and does it VERY well! Very aggressive grower once established! I am very thankful I pulled a clone before flowering.

IMG_6359.jpgThis was the NYCD, also a very lucky clone find! This girl got big...big leaves, big flowers...just big...like kush fluffy big...very good smoke too! It doesnt smell like much in the jar and then iut hits the grinder and your nose fills with a complex mix of deliciousness. Truly a unique smoke for me! Also early but man does she get me up there! I think a longer veg will be good for this one 30 days-very traditional grower-like a pine tree I let her go natural and feel my yield was exceptional and worth every bit of time I put into these girls. Happy growing!-I'll start a new journal down the road...

Oh yeah...and I submitted a photo to a growing site and they posted my pic as the trophy of the week! The site is pretty cool and all my hard work AND effort I got to show off-rad days! They have very good straight forward information and great articles to read ;)

Thank you! to all of you at Rollitup.org (and Growweedeasy.org) for helping me when I was not sure and for keeping a good resource open, alive and thriving! Till next grow...:bigjoint:
