Hey everyone this is my first post on this site and i have to say this is one of my favorite sites. The people on here are very knowledgeable and dont just talk a lok od $hit.

Anyway my question is there really a difference between a standard hps, and the EYE hortilux bulbs? its time to flower and i can get a standard for about half the price of the EYE, but if the benifits make up for the cost i will def buy hte EYE. Any info would be much appreciated.

i think the eye has a broader spectrum which is more beneficial to the plants growth, but im not sure............

check lumens and spectrum I think eye has more but I never checked it be nice to know though. That would save a lot if it were the same results. But it does make sense that high spectrum and lumens make bigger yeilds. But how much?

Both are going to be pretty good if compared to CFL's, but the EYE has more blue spectrum light added to it and after about a week I could really start to see a difference between the two lights. I believe (but am not sure) that the bluer light that is better at supporting the green folliage. The green folliage and fan leaves are then healthier and able to absorb more of the redder light that is vital for flowering.
