If you grow in dirt for example when you water at least 25 percent runoff should run out the bottom of your pot if you are using hydroponic fertilizer if not salt will build up therefore everytime you water you are rinsing away or flushing your medium. Try giving your houseplants the run off will probably kill them. So lets stay on subject here yes you are right rain water has nutrients the plant can access hell the atmosphere has nutrients the plant can access. But rain does not have harmfull salt or chelates. It washes away any if any farmer is using slow release but not all. Which is why farmers try to use organic methods you know spreading shit. Have you ever planted in a cornfield weed grows perfectly in a cornfield I have seen monster plants grow in the cornfield but it seldom burns unless lots of fall rain.

Well yea, if it rains non stop for days crops are fucked. That's basically flushing in a nutshell.

Besides, if we're talking about indoor soil growing, if your container has good drainage you'll NEVER get nutrient lock up of any kind in your soil.

If you have little to no runoff, your plants are going to lock up. That's a no brainer.

So why the need to ever flush then? Flushing is for when a problem arises in the soil. With proper drainage, you should never need to flush anything out.

They spread their shit to get rid of it not so much for fertilization,
90 % of corn farmers I know Use anhydrous ammonium for their nitrogen source not to mention how many wastewater treatment plants and swine operations inject their sludge into the ground.

I have just did a test on this and the plant that wasn't flushed had better taste the a flushed plant. Gave someone a sample and they like the plant that didn't have a flush. I did this so I could have a none biased opinion. Also note the bud wasn't even cured yet and still great taste from both so I would say no need to really flush but if u want to and it makes you feel better and you have the time to waste go right ahead and flush. I hated flushing when I didn't know any better and I was doing a flush.

On the flip side. If Jorge himself gave me some beautiful, freshly harvested buds and I cured them incorrectly it's still gonna taste like shit

Also I have a Hannah ph and ec combo pen collecting dust haven't used it in years.

I'm amazed no one has bothered to mention that with good drainage you'll never get nute lock up or excessive build up in the soil, thus further eliminating the need for a flush.
