Start of life?

Im struggling to keep my grow journal uptodate with the actual progress of my plants. They seem to be growing slower than expected, but i feel like it is because i think they should be further along then they actually are. So my question is....
Whenever you start your journal, do you start day 1 and week 1 from sprout of cotyledon? Lately i have been starting day 1 week 1 whenever they pop and i place them in germination station.

Im really trying to stay on schedule and keep up with my plants since they are autoflowers i know i have limited time before flowering kicks

If you want to do it right start your journal at the moment you decide to grow. This way all your prepping and studying is recorded and if something goes wrong you can look back and see what you did from the beginning.

Did you get bad info? What exactly was the name on that soil mix and what was in it? Miracle-Gro worked on my daisies, why not my plants? Why did I think treating mites with WD-40 was a good idea?

Keep track of what you do and why from the start and it's easier to trace back mistakes and bad decisions if you write it down.
And no I didn't spray my plants with WD-40. But I know someone who sprayed their roses with it for aphids.
There were no survivors...or roses.

I journal right into my phone starting with seed in ground. That way it is right in my pocket and I can write down something anywhere from the garden to the garden store.

My entire feed journal is recorded on my phone as well. So I have notes for the plant observations and notes on my feeding and maintenance in seperate "notebooks".

Check out my grow journal I have been making and maybe it can give you some ideas. I was actually a week or two into the grow before I started posting so I had to catch up. There is not a right way or wrong way to do it. Most important is that you take notes for yourself in case things go belly-up. That way you can see where you have went wrong and fix it next time.
