Try researching everything first.. The answer isn't some magical number someone is gonna give you.

If you build it, it will grow bro.

Peace

I understand there is no magical number but you guys must have some idea.
How many plants would i be able to grow?

Not to be mean serrano7503 but if you are asking questions like how many plants can you fit in 1000sq area and how much money I can make, you have bigger problems. The electricity alone would cost about $3000 for a 3 month cycle, if your getting it legally. When you factor in

security
rent
front for building
electricity
water
lights
nutes
pots
soil
hydro system
clones

The list goes on and on. Like I said if your more concerned with the money side of a operation like this, you are doomed for failure.

Sorry, can't say I'm doing it for the good of man kind.....the money is a large part of it.
Whats wrong with that?
I believe his point was that "if you have to ask . . . you probably can't afford it".

I could be wrong. Also, I've noticed that these types of questions do not go over too well on this site.

That's a huge risk. all I can say is do some research. lots of research.

You might want to spend most of your research on security.

OP has a total of three posts on RIU up to now. The preceding quote was the very first.

OP wants to know everything about a medium-sized for-profit grow.

Haha, its funny to me how some people will ask questions that are simple and could be easily answered on your own accord by just using the magical "search" feature on just about every forum. And greenearth, is the recommendation of 30 plants to be per light or for all 1,000 sq. ft. ? If the latter seems a little skimp in my opinion.

To build my grow room I went through extensive research. At first I only grew one plant to make sure that I had the knowledge to do it then I built the grow room. While it is not that size you have to take into account how much time you will be able to offer. Also, I would have to know location (not exact, but state to determine average temperature and humidity). Also, you would have to decide what type of lights you want to run and how many. You would also have to take into account the ventilation, smell, energy consumption, and many other factors. The best bet is research, research, research. Before you decide to build a room make sure you have the plans written down. As for the fans and lighting, this is a great site to research, but for the entire room it is dependent on how much you really want to put into it. My finished room cost a total of around 3000 and it is only 15' by 8' and is split into a veg and flower room. There are way to many variables to answer this question. Stick to specifics.

if it were me doing it I would go with a sealed system I would make it air tight and have a room just for mixing air. given that each plant needs about two square feet to grow you could about 100 plants leaving room for isles. also considering that a 1000w hps light consumes about 40-50 bucks a month on your electric bill and to light that space you would need about 30 and the cheapest light I saw was around 250 a peice. so that about a 6000 dollar electric bill for a 3 month flower. so right now you are at about 13000 if your lucky and each plant yields a dry weight of 1/2lb that 200 lbs =50lbs currant rate for a lb is 2-3 that's only 15000 and you still haven't bought any growing media paid rent seeds hours spent pruning drying curing just odds an ends. I think to do a grow like that you need to gradually build up to it over time

my first grow was in an area of 3x5 and now my flower room has grown to be 8x8 and I vegg on 3 tier racks to save space not doing a SOG ( I like to see them grow naturaly) I can pack between 14-16 plants in there. and I am able to get decent yeilds. start small so you can see how much work is involved. I am willing to help you go cheap to start I have developed a few secretes of my own to cut cost.

I agree with left. Always start small. If you F it up its not a big deal. It depends on how you would like to grow your plants but if you need any ideas on how to keep it cheap I also have a few tricks. Just message and let me know.
