Started a grow in Coco with Earth Dust dry amendments.

So I started a new grow using coco with Earth Dust dry amendments. The ever popular Mr. Canucks Grows uses 6.5 - 6.8 water pH. Should I use this pH?
I am confused since every online answer says to use 5.8-6.5 pH, which is quite the broad range, and I bet it's wrong.
Anyone else using coco with dry amendments? What watering pH works best for you? Thanks guys!

You are in for a difficult grow riddled with problems. Just don't if you want to get to harvest.

I'm still going to do it, but I'm guessing you did a failed grow using this method? I just came from a soil and bottled nutes run, and i hate it. The soil stays way too saturated for too long. I ended up moving my soil grow outside, and they are bouncing back, but got stunted to hell. I'm looking forward to working with coco, clean slate and drains well. I just need to decide the pH I should water at. Mr. Canucks Grows says he does 6.5-6.8 to protect the microbes.

You can do whatever you'd like. My first run was an attempt at coco and dry amendments. I quickly figured out it just doesn't work. Use dry amendments with soil, dry salts with coco. You can check my journal link below if you'd like to check my progress once I figured things out. Good luck.

You're in for a long night. Most of it is daily updates which I did for my own record keeping and back checking.
That's fine, time I have. All I've been doing for the past few months is watching grow vids, studying and growing. If you have time, I'd like to hear what main things went wrong with that coco grow you did, and what you did to fix it (if you managed to). I'll still check out your grow, but I would like to hear more.

Main thing that went wrong was using dry amendments in coco. Coco is a hydroponic medium that works best when fed multiple times daily, or at least daily(when the plant is fully rooted). Dry amendments work by feeding microbes in soil. It's just completely different. I fixed my grow by switching to dry salts. Initially to MegaCrop 1 part and now I'm using Jack's 3-2-1 program. Once I switched my plants almost instantly improved. Every grow since switching has improved with more experience and reading/learning about coco. Good luck!

If you want to protect the microbes,. don't let the soil dry out. That easy.
