Started from a seed older than myself

25 years ago I was buying and planting seeds from the "super sativa seed club". I think I bought Skunk #1, NL, a hash plant and a Swazi and then spent a few years crossing them with no particular goal.
I do wonder if todays Skunk #1 and NL are the same as they were back in 1983 or if the genetics have changed but the names remained the same?? :dunce::leaf:

Trouble in paradise my friends... I woke up to this discoloration on mostly just this branch/new leaf but upon closer inspection I can see where it might be developing on other leaves as well.

I think it's probably time to feed this lady however, your comments and suggestions for a plan of action are very appreciated. It's been in this pot with this soil for around 4-5 weeks.

Thank you again and happy growing :)

Yeah you are starving them. A plant can live on only water alone just like the human body for so long. Definitely need some nutrients STAT, but don't go overboard, slowly introduce it, but do it now!

I used miracle grow because I already have it and since the plant is showing symptoms, it felt like a good idea to feed it now rather than wait.
Liquid All Purpose Plant Food
N = 12%
Phosphate = 4%
Potash = 8%

Hopefully that isn't wildly unacceptable. Just incase, I did use a slightly lighter touch than the dosing instructions recommended. I'm going to order the FF fert. trio pack for soil growing as soon as I get paid.

Thanks :)

I fed the plant and it responded immediately. I've taken lots of new pictures and included a couple of my other plants that sprouted from seeds one of my friends gave me.

Thanks for looking :)IMG_0818.jpgIMG_0821.jpgIMG_0815.jpgIMG_0819.jpgIMG_0826.jpgIMG_0830.jpgIMG_0820.jpg

i have often wondered how long a seeds shelf life is. Up to 25 years tops all records i have heard of. Either way, the plant is looking very happy and healthy. Hopefully it ends up a girl, and if not, it is a potential breeding experiment waiting to happen! either way, good luck and best wishes - prrrrr

I would think it was a seed bought from some old timing import grown in bulk rather then a specific strain. Wow though ... I bet that seed thought it'd never come alive and be grown. :leaf:Turtle Hermit***

Hey guys,

I thought I would post an update since I re-potted everyone this afternoon. Unfortunately, I haven't had CO2 going in four days, I'm going to change that tomorrow because I really think growth slowed without it. I also added something similar to this product when I replanted --> http://www.growlightexpress.com/microbes-inoculants-99/plant-success-granular-1lb-1229.html

I should mention that they are staying cool enough, when the tent is closed the temp. stays around 80-82 but they are really close to that 400W HPS... will that be an issue?

Oh and my girlfriend's father was one of us many years ago, growing tons of plants on his property for his friends and himself. He stopped about 25 years ago and passed away 4 months ago. My girl's mom found a tylenol bottle with around 50 seeds in it from when he used to grow and she gave it to me. It started as a joke, they didn't think I stood a chance at getting one to even sprout. Haha...
Brought tears to my eyes. I never had any kids so I'm trying to breed a new strain to leave to the world. Please keep that plant alive even if its male collect some pollen and use it for breeding.

I had a bag full of 5 year-old seeds and *none* of them sprouted ( 0.0% ). I'm guessing the health of the seed and the storage make all the difference

Good luck!
