I started growing about a week or so ago and I have three plants about two and a half inches tall. I'm using two 1600 lumen cfls at5000k and a fluorescent grow light 1000 lumens and 4200k. I know this isn't enough and I need help ASAP before they start to die. I'm on a tight budget and I'm wondering what my options are to produce something smoke able . Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If your on a tight budget, get a 4by for your cfl's, or a 3by. Meaning you can stick 4 bulbs into 4 sockets that connect into one. Sorry Im not saying your a retard, just saying its cheap easy and affordable. My neighbor grows with a 4by and 4 energy saver bulbs. His still is smokeable, grown in a closet, and all organic......Its easy try it out. The 4 by might cost you like $12 or something, plus bulbs your looking at what $30 total? Your fine man, just get more lighting.

Take advantage of the wealth of knowledge on this forum. There is TONS of information out there if you look around. The stickies are a good place to start out reading. Don't expect to much out of your first grow, just focus on making it to harvest. Don't over think it, remember it's just a plant. Think about what a plant would want or need, not all the myths out there.

both your colour spectrums are a little out. 2400k for flower, 6400k to veg. Whilst it won't be huge, it will make a difference to the outcome in both veg and flower.

I have some plants under CFL right now, the ones closer to the 2700k bulb are twice as big as the ones near the 6500k bulbs. Spectrum does have it's role, but it's not as important as people think it is.

I'm growing with tomato plant nutes in soil. The soil came from an organic soil bag, doesn't say much info on the bag but yea I do plan on getting more lights but will the CFL's I mentioned above work if I get a couple more? I'll post picks of my grow box and plants as soon as I can so you guys see how I got it set up.

You can get 100w 6500k lights at Home depot type stores for around $50.00. get the highest watt highest k light you can for veg.

That's how deep the soil is and I have a question about the last 2 pictures. It might be kind of hard to see it but that one plant is leaning a little and one of the round leaves is curling while the other is perfect. I read that I'm supposed to keep the soil kind of dry so that I don't drown the roots so I've been watering them sparingly without nutes. If anyone can give me a good schedule to provide the plants with some nutes instead of plain water that won't over do it and kill them, that would be awesome. These are my babies haha I wan't them to grow into healthy mofo's :P This is my second attempt at growing. I had a single plant before but something happened to the stem. The stem was a purple color which I thought was normal but in the middle of the stem there was a length of it that was almost white and one day i came to check on it and the plant had fallen over and bent right where the white was. I don't want this to happen to my new plants so, does anyone know what might have caused this? Oh, I forgot to mention, the temp inside the growbox is 50 degrees F sometimes more. Do I need to get some kind of heater?

I didnt read al of that, just because its so long. However, grow temp needs to go up between 72-78 (IDEALLY) get a water ph tester, idk if you have one or not. Make sure your water ph levels are between 6.2-6.8. Invest in some perilite for your soil, it will help with over watering. 50F is the temp at the plant under the light with it on? if so im guessing your ventilation is decent due to the cold temps?

Cover those containers up with duct tape, or card board paper, black plastic, anything. When your roots grow out they'll grow to the sides of the container and they'll be exposed to the light. Roots don't like light. You wont need nutes for a while. What soil are you using? Are there holes in the bottom of those containers for drainage? If not, you need to poke some holes so water can drain out or the bottom of your dirt will turn to mush and rot your roots.
