Started Northern Lights x Skunk Fem and Critical Jack Autofem - did I start right?!

Wondering about watering and amount of light/water these need...

So this is how it was done on the seeds... any advice is appreciated!

First the Northern Lights Hybrid seed: was thrown into germination with the shot glass method using water and a drop of super thrive (1 drop to 1 gallon of water) and a dark cup over top. The next morning I checked the seed and it was still floating, I poked it once with the tweezers that I use for all of my seeds and she sank.... bingo! I let it sit for about another 12 hrs, while I was at work. When I got home I SLOWLY poured out the water from the shot glass and GENTLY grabbed the seed (which I could already see the split in the seed) with the tweezers, it was thrown into an old plastic cookie container between 4 sheets of paper towel (2 bottom, 2 top), I then sprayed it with 1 drop per gallon Superthrive/Water. The container has a few small holes on the top cover... nonetheless, I completely wrap the entire container in a small beach towel (makes it pitch black but still gets SOME air - it's worked every other germination) and put it in my grow box WITH ONE LIGHT ON. The temp stays right around 75-80*F - give or take a few degrees. Nonetheless, I couldn't get it to split open anymore after 7 days! All it was was the seed split long ways and a white root tip barely running down the side and just a TINY end poking out on the pointed end. Wish I woulda took a pic, hard to explain. Anyways, I got tired of it not doing anything else (I contemplated helping it out of its shell but didn't want to mess up a FREE seed! ) So after 7 days, the way it is.... it was thrown like half a centimeter into a moist "seed starting growing mix" (which is pretty much all peat moss and some perlite for drainage) in a half cut dixie cup yesterday and put it 2" beneath a soft white AND daylight CFL - all in my veg box! lol.... it's staying about 85*F in there and has GREAT airflow... nothing showing yet.

Secondly, I went after the Autofem Critical Jack (also a free seed): After I read up on the Autofem strain, how GD QUICK it grows and the THC levels it! I immediately threw this thing into germination with the shot glass method and a dark cup over top - same water mixture as the other! The next morning I checked the seed and it was sitting on the bottom, WITH THE TAPROOT STARTING TO SHOW! I couldn't believe it, again I let it soak in the dark in the shot glass, until I got off work about 10 hrs later.... when I looked again, after that 10 hr span, the seed was starting to try and fall off and when I picked it up out of the shotglass I COULD SEE THE FIRST GREEN LEAF inside the shell.... wtf! Nuclear seeds - I SWEAR!!!! :hump: Welp, it wasn't going to see the damn paper towel if it wanted to grow like a freaking weed plant - and I'm not talking about the type of weed this forum is based on!!! So I threw it in another half dixie cup with the same growing medium and put it under the same lighting, right next to each other - with their labels in the veg box.....

Here's some pictures of one that I assume needed to be watered (because I did) due to its dry top (the Northern Lights hybrid which was planted 24 hrs prior to the other autofem seed). Guess that would explain it being dry, it's been planted longer... lol. STONED! Anyways, I REALLY HOPE that both (or atleast the autofem) take off towards the lights. Do you think it needs more light or less right now? Plants too close? Should I use a humidity dome? Did I plant them too soon? As you see, there's a powerful fan blowing on the lights/pots so they don't get TOO hot. How long does it usually take for these to show? The only start to finish indoors I got to finish was a dank bagseed and I had forgotten I germinated it.... it germed for a good 10-15 days and when I got to it it had already broke out of it's shell and was growing it's first two leaves IN THE PAPER TOWEL!!

Any answers greatly appreciated!

yeah i was wondering if i was reading it wrong..?
EDIT: upon reading, he says it stays 85 in there..
and no you have enough light for germination/seedlings, but look into getting more for veg and even more for flowering..cfls can get super close to your plants without burning them.like 2 inches close.. you dont have to use a humidity dome. i dont..some people do..your call really... and waiting id say anywhere from 72 hrs to a few days..my germinated seeds usually sprout after 2-3 days.

Looks like a good start. When do you plan to re pot out of the party cup? How often and how much are you watering?

This is exactly what I need help with!!! It seems that I have to water it atleast 3 x's a day because the medium is drying out extremely fast!! I don't know why though because it stays at about 80 degrees in there - 85 tops. I still see NO growth whatsoever, I'm not sure if the medium dryin out is letting the lights kill the seeds aka cook them, or is it being drowned? I was always told that if the top of the soil is dry then it is time to water, weather it be a seed or an all out blooming plant! These things dry out 3 x's a day, and I just. hit them with the mister bottle until the soil turns dark again...it's been about 3 to 4 days and nothing. I'm beginning to think that These two cfls are too much 4 these too baby seeds

Btw I'm using an organic seed starting potting mix... pretty much perlite and some kind of peat moss...... made for STARTING SEEDS!!

youre cool man just wait it out theyll come when you least expect it
What do you think about this my FRIEND!!!??

I think you are right my friend, and I just finished making sweet love to my fiance!!! While I was at work today I got this AWESOME idea to put the half cut dixie cups (pots for plants) in BIGGER bowls filled with water - just deep enough so the rim was about a centimeter away from top. That way the water/superthrive mix would saturate the ENTIRE medium from the "ground" up (through the drain holes!). Well I had to give her detailed instructions (and this is a HARD HARD HARD thing to do gentlemen AND ladies), but it seems as if she did it right. I told her to do it until she saw the top of the soil start to turn dark from the bottom up and then stop - she said that's what she did and THIS is what I came home to 4-5 hrs later when the lights had been over them......!!!!!

Can you see their heads????

No one cares, sweet dude. I turned a nothing sprout a into a zone of some chronic on my last grow.... mostly because of this forum. Now that I'm much more knowledgable and have A GOOD grow under my belt no one gives a shit or wants to help. Hell, I got ragged on THAT LAST grow about how "ugly" it was? That's F's up n its own. Now that a select few on this forum have taught me some things, I may just carry my ass somewhere else. Dunno why tho, every forum is the exact same! Only forum that's not is blazerforum.Com! And that is a shame, because I'm trying to sell my blazer right now.... sheesh! Figured I'd ATLEAST make ONE growing buddy to chat with!!

Oh, okay. I thought you were lonely, and wanted help, etc. I'll just toddle off then.
Toodles! 80-85 degrees is absolutely PERFECT for both my grows right now, they seem to be eating it up. Does it not get to the 90's & 100's during the peak summer? With heat waves HIGHER than that during heat waves and such? Cuz it does here and my plants get ALL DAY of it during outdoor grows!

Watch out for the soil drying up, that's it. Though I do agree that its too much for seeds popping out the ground and ur first two set of leaves. But once my plant(s) get 3, goin on 4 leaf sets is when I transfer out of half Dixie cup to full. Once the autos show their sex they go in their final pot (3-4 gallon) and my feminized plants (which grow much longer) go into the 5 gallons!

But again, toodles! I believe ur plant will thank u if ur mock a good spring/summer/fall... Hell, change the ways and ur may thank YOURSELF!
