starting a seed inside a fruit rind?

Hey just wondering if anyone has heard of some old timer mj grower technique where you scoop out the insides of a mango, orange, banana, or kiwi and fill the inside of the fruit rind with soil or peat moss and plant the seed inside that. I heard it starts them off real well and make them more resistance to pests or diseases in the long run.
I'm not sure though, I mean I can see how it would work and I could see how it wouldnt. I want to hear what others know or have heard about this way of propagation. I did try this out with a kiwi before i posted this but im going to see how it goes and if it works ill keep you guys posted. so let me know what you guys think.

Ya i know that but compost fruit tends to bring gnats aphids and other bugs...so it just doesnt seem worth it just start them.lil fuckers in dixie cups

Come on, really ???? You can cram soil or peat moss into ANYTHING, introduce a seed into the soil or peat moss and grow a plant. Maybe the OP is trolling?

i guess if you scrape enough guts out of the fruit it wouldnt attact too much mold or bugs maybe. I did one inside a kiwi and planted that in a pot and i might do another one with a better cleaned out rine and maybe add a bit of used coffee and tea grounds that i have saved up and mix some in. i mean theres plenty of other great ways to start a seed but i suppose this could work. worth a try, an experiment is always fun.

actually i thought it sounded kind of silly at first but as long as it doesnt make it all super moldy or something then it would still grow and if its not hurting it then it could maybe be help it then.
