Starting ambitious new SOG

Problems or not, they are being flipped to 12/12 as soon as the next lighting fixture arrives, simply got no time to waste. They only have to produce about 8g of bud each, so hopefully even little plants after being switched to flowering end up substantial enough to achieve that goal.

Growers on here do well with 12/12 from seed , so I see no issue on flipping them at your stage. My concern , as yours is their health=== It is imperative in hydro(hempy) that you own a good PH pen, or don't bother.

All the money and time your spent on this will be for nothing if you don't know your water's ph in hydro.

I picked up some cheapo PH testing solution today, but it gave me an idea and the PH was obviously to blame, it was up over 7.5, leaning towards 8.

I dont want to go against the grain here, but I did own a pen before, and after changing to Hempy, I found I did not need to use it with the Sensi grow/bloom, it was always spot on when it got to full strength feedings.

Cheers though dude, definitely agree with you, if I was going full hydro, I would spare no expense when it came to a PH/EC meter.

I have subsequently given them a good flushing with water that is between 5.5 - 6.0 ph and even a couple hours later the leaves look a little healthier, less pissed off gnarly twisted and dry than usual, lol

Just feels like this phase takes forever! Still reeling from the fact I had to throw away lots of healthy plants and clones before I moved here.

been a while as I was boring myself with how slow/poorly everything was going...

Happy to report things have picked up rather nicely, the new light is in place and is looking good, the plants are finally growing properly now ive sorted out the PH.

I have put them onto 12/12 as of yesterday. The next stage is to transplant them into their final 2l pots, which I will do tomorrow, I think because its so early on in "flowering" that it should not cause too much stress.

Hopefully within about 2 weeks they will have grown enough to take clones from each plant, Im cloning everything and will be filling up the cabinet with the clones in the coming weeks.

Just hoping the 8 plants I currently have in there buys enough time to get rooted clones into the flowering room.

I estimate it will take around 28 days from taking a clone to being able to put it into flower, fingers crossed this is a high end estimate.

If anyone was/is interested, the reason they were growing so slowly was not only a high PH, but I believe that because they are in an inert growing medium they need nutrients basically right off the bat.

I have fed the seedlings in the picture water the very first time, then about 5 days after a very weak, probably 1/4th recommended dose of sensi grow and they are looking really good (apart from one mutant looking thing.. cant even see where the next leaves are going to appear, really strange)

So from now on, I will feed them in the 2nd watering, rather than going 4 or 5 feedings (2 weeks nearly) without any nutrients, it was too long and combined with the high PH the plant had access to very little and what it did it was struggling with anyway, just a horrible scenario.

Its nice when the ppm of the nutes gets higher because I find it takes a good amount for the "PH perfect" tech to work, but saying that, it DOES work well when you are near full strength nutes and I never need to check ppm.

One of the reasons your seedlings curl under may be because you place them right under the LEDs. I always start them out with a boring inefficient CFL. Hope you get back on track, Im really interested in starting a similar grow. Just cant get hands on a PH-meter nor get to measure PPM, so kind of working out how realistic it would be to try it out. Will probably place a single hempy in my flower space to try it out. Good luck

Hey dude, cheers for the advice, but I really do think it was down to the ultra high PH which was in the region of 8.4 so not the best for hydro, haha.

Things are moving along nicely now, they have been on 12/12 for a couple weeks now, I think they are looking like they are starting to enter the flowering phase now, will see them stretch out over the next couple weeks I think.. Hopefully the SAGE stay as uniform as they have been so far.. really impressed with them, and even the MK Ultra looks very similar.. again hoping the canopy control is going to be relatively easy.

I have done grows with around 30 different types of strains all flowering at once, so 3 seems like a doddle! - and speaking of the 3rd, the Silver Haze are coming along okay, 2 of them survived and it looks like ive got a nice sativa leaning one and a more indica dom one, so very happy with that...

Looking like in around 10-14 days i'll take clones from everything and start populating the rest of the cabinet with green goddesses
