Starting My Box...Input Wanted !!

Yeah Wolf, Other than the "kids" on here (and I mean not to offend anyone plz) I'm sure quite a few ppl can relate. Its all a brutal cycle, If I could just get some seeds or clones I could start a grow and then clone and flower and so on to the point that I'd have my own stash and not have to spend money. Just another thing helping me into further into debt. You know its bad when your Interest Payment on your MasterCard is 1/2 of your pay cheque...That was really depressing this month. But like you said .. Good Attitude or depression takes over and then its all down hill from there. Been there done that, don't wanna go back. lol.

Basils doing fantastic, I don' know how many ppl are growing basil in a dedicated box, LMAO.. I mean these little guys are getting hit with 4 26W 6500K bulbs and 1 13W 2700K. So they're loving it, plus they're helping me get the bulb placement and temperatures worked out before my real plants.

Aite so its Update Time !

I took the oscillating fan out of the box for now as a test. I also measured correctly this time !! and installed a new 120mm PC fan as a 2nd intake.

So I now have 2 X 120mm PC fans intake and 1 x 80mm Exhaust Fan. Lets hope this all gets my temps down to where I want them. Now all that remains to be done is light proofing with some foam tape and then well then I have to get some damn seeds or clones so I can put the box to use other than for Basil ! LOL




So thats what the 2 intakes look like. Thats pretty much all for now, I'll do one more update after I get the foam tape and put it on.

Its interesting that you chose to go with so many intake fans. I am not using any intake fans, just a hole. I am using a lot of exhaust fans and I am keeping temps in the low 80s in my box. I suppose there are 2 ways to skin a cat.

Yeah, GTG ya know I'm experimenting theres always a few solutions to each problem. Its just about finding the one that helps solve your problem the best ! So as a little update the temps have gone and dropped to 83.5 I'm quite content with that for the time being ! I still have 1 extra 120mm PC fan kicking around which I could always make as a 2nd exhaust. Time will tell ! I also picked up some foam tape at home depot and I"m about to Light Poof this sucker as best I can

how are you wiring those pc fans and what are they pulling current from?

Ok, so what I did for the PC fans was as follows. Checked the Input requirements for the fans and then I work in a liquidation warehouse so I looked for a few days and managed to find AC plugs with the same output that the fans had as input and then its a simple red - red and black - black cover with electrical tape and happy happy !!!

Looks like your are adapting your cab well and i'm sure you will have some of the nicest basil around =]

I would suggest some pvc elbows over your fans... you could use some sewer line elbows, I think they are big enough and come in black. Not only can you direct the exhaust and intake air, but it would also help with light proofing.

One thing I noticed about my grow, which i'm sure you have too... is that this little hobby of ours, is a great stress reliever =]

I've seen ppl do the pvc elbows, and I think i'll take that into consideration when 12/12 time comes... Ok So Wolfman, and anyone else who's been around this thread GTG, and BigD. I really appreciate all your help getting my box dialed in for the most part. Today I did something that might not have been the wisest move but at the same time I can't help myself sometimes... Ya know your very right about our stress relieving hobby, the part you left out is how ADDICTIVE the hobby is. I'm like wanting to do something everyday, and I look forward to learning some patience whilst growing....

I couldn't help myself, I was downtown and the store was there and so I had to do it. I'm the proud poppa of some Hindu Kush Seeds, Courtest of Toronto420.com great ppl to deal with, very nice and answered all of my questions. So yeah, I'm going to start the germination process of 2 seeds after I finish this post and I'll be starting my Journal in the CFL section in probably a day or two. Feel free to post here still as of course I'll check it that is till the journal starts up !!

Anyway I'm too excited to sit and type time to get 2 plates and some paper towel !! All I need is 1 nice Girl from these 2 seeds and I'll have my Clone Mommy and Hindu Kush till i'm sick of it !!!

Fixed, you can use the hight temp. Make sure the rest is there. It will grow like hell
