Shit if that is true the hydro guy got one over on me. I am in the process of switching all the way to hempys so I have two different setups right now.
For Hempy in Veg:
Gh Series, Gro, Micro, Bloom, Diamond Nectar, Superthrive, Dutch Masters Zone and Silica. Usually will throw in Zone and or Orca depending on how everything looks.
For Aero in Flower:
Gh Series, Gro, Micro, Bloom, Diamond Nectar until week 3, Silica until week 3, Zone if needed, Floralicous Plus, Flora Nectar, Kool Bloom and Cyrstal Burst.
This is the first full round of using silica. Can't really say i notice a difference but the girls in flower look awesome to me. Maybe a bit more stretched out. But I blame my old bulb and lack of getting a new one. Will try and grab a fresh bulb this week but the stretch is already over. At leaset it will help with the stacking of flowers.
Yeah with bennies I figured everytime I added them they probably just die any way. That is interesting about the silica though. Maybe I just stick to it in Veg since the Flora Bloom increases once I hit flower.I use dutch master root zone when I want a copper treatment and then a mix if I want to use bennies
Not tried orca yet was a fan of great white but have moved over to "root grow" the hydro one as a 400g bag is cheap got some other new one that was cheap too same kinda thing
Started to look for ones with no trichoderma in them as I can buy that separately and apparently its far more agressive then the mycor stuff so using the both at the same time is not as good as if you breed up mycor and use trichoderma to clean up fresh coco or "sick/dirty" plants and soil
If your bulb is old that will cost you yield for sure
I still keep silica about as it`s a good ph up but I don`t go out of my way to add it if I`m using ghe`s flora range as I know for sure it`s got silica in it, I`m not sure what bottle its in but at least one of them definitely has it
Oh here we go
It`s in the flora bloom
FloraBloom : During growth it increases root formation and health. During flowering and fruiting it enables the plant to fulfil its genetic potential to the maximum.
Of special importance for water culture growers, FloraGro and FloraBloom both contain silicate (in form of silicic acid) to complete the diet and strengthen the structure of your plants

So if your using orca in your res then I would switch to a silica free pk source for a week or 2 and allow the orca`s microbes to breed otherwise your just going to kill them with the silica, unless your mixing with water and carbs and feeding the plants roots, adding orca to a siliconed res would mean most of the bennies just die right away right ??
IMO Don't spend a shit load of money. Just do a soil grow and get use to growing again. I would probably drop the plant count too. Your grow though. 2 - 4 bad ass plants will make you far happier then 12 dead ones.Alright, i'm getting ready to decide if i want to go ahead a purchase a bag of roots organic from amazon to start my seedlings in, then when i transplant go into coco and perlite mix. I hear 5 parts coco per 3 parts perlite is too much, so ill take away some of the perlite.
I guess the only reason I went for coco is because i heard from a lot of people that it's better to start out because there are no time release fertalizers in it. I guess my stupid girl head didn't think that seedlings needed any.
Should I go ahead with the purchase of roots organic? This is what i was thinking.

Or should I go with something different?
I looked up some reverse osmosis systems, but they are just too expensive for me to buy right now.
I think I can keep things under control if i can just get to the point where my seedlings can sprout and grow healthy, i grew a for a couple years about 4 years ago, i've forgotten a lot it seems lol.
Thanks you guys are seriously helping me a lot, and it means so much to me.

I thnk yktind kind of hit it on the head there...seedlings don't need a whole lot to get started because they got their cotelydons to get by on for a little while...most mediums should work decently well for the yung'ns assuming other conditions in the environment are good. Some of the pre-mixes might be slightly hot for seedlings which could slow you down a bit, but other than that I don't think it will matter much what you choose to start them in. From what I've witnessed here on RIU the biggest threat to a young seedling is overwatering / damping off so that's something to keep in mind. You'll at least want something that has decent drainage and is relatively light / aerated if you are gonna start in soil.IMO Don't spend a shit load of money. Just do a soil grow and get use to growing again. I would probably drop the plant count too. Your grow though. 2 - 4 bad ass plants will make you far happier then 12 dead ones.
Ya there is no question u could make FFOF for pennys on the dollar, but shit i need one bag per cycle and it costs like 12 bucks.Hmm lotta FF hate. I picked up a couple bags of ocean forest to tie me over cuz I ran out of medium and had to transplant my CSS - figured i'd give it a shot...seems to be just fine. Little pricey for what it is, but it's not bad at all...haven't fed anything but water n she's looking great.
Go to local nursery, plants not kids, and get a small bag of starter mix. It's low nutes and peat with a little perlite and soil. Just water and let dry over half way before rewatering. Also get smaller pots. 2". Easier to not over water. Once fully rooted in them transplant. R use the little peat pots, the roots will grow through the pot, when big enough just put whole plant and pot in bigger pot. Easy. Not expensive. Never, I repeat, never use coco for seedlings or small clones. Also use Jacks citrus. Better the jacks original for this. Not what I use or would use, but will do good for you. If going to mix more nutes then just jacks, use silica, calmag and a rooting agent. I use canna Rhizo. Bcus roots is good too. Most rooting compounds are more then adequate. But the silica will make bigger and stronger plants. And silica will help keep bugs away and mildew. And if you fuk up it will help make your fuk up not as bad. Under watering and you loose leaves not the plant dies. Gets too hot and plant rocks on with no give a shit. Gets too cold, only a little stumble. Silica goes in and is mixed into the water First. First. First. Silica messes up other nutes in its concentrated form. Happy growing....Alright, i'm getting ready to decide if i want to go ahead a purchase a bag of roots organic from amazon to start my seedlings in, then when i transplant go into coco and perlite mix. I believe you will have much better results with the roots organic.Well i just purchased the roots organics, hopefully i'll have better luck with this as a starting medium. I'll make sure to test the runoff ph. When I plant, and get some sprouts, i'll come back here and post some pics. It'll be a couple weeks though. Keep the advice coming though, loving it.
I've always had the best luck lst'ing my plants to keep them short and bushy with more tops. Plus my tent is only about 4ft high.
A friend uses it and he gets faster growth then I do. A little lanky an wider nodes. Buds were tight and great smell. He rinsed 2 weeks at the end so not bad at all. Trics weren't as big or numerous and the high was lower and shorter. Many people really like it. H also uses molasses all the way through his grow from veg to bloom. 1/2-1 ml per gallon for veg once a week and 2 to 6 ml per gallon for bud once a week. I use less by about half in my bloom. And I use BioCanna. Very pricy but I'm worth it. Good luck.Yeah seems to be in the flora grow too just not the micro
I`ve been using the flora nova veg lately and its been so good I`ve considered getting the bloom too and getting away from the 3 pack system ?
@Zenogears I would give the coco another go but I`d use "vitalinks plant start" or something like it even a tiny bit of veg food at a very low rate just for the 1st soak on the coco then I`d just water them with water for a week or 2
Plant start always works good for me a few seeds even shot twin or triple tops right out of the ground.
Root organic is ok. I would recommend mixing it with peat moss at half. Also by adding the peat you can see when it's dry better. Instead of turning light black when dry it turns light tan. Can spot low water plants across the room. I'm talking a regular room, not a 2x4 tent.. Lol. All starter soils have high amounts or peat. Jeeze man and there I am looking at a country house and land just to grow 1000 or so beans in the summer when I retire from city life, lolRoot organic is ok. View attachment 3311468 This is one of my clone and teen areas. 1600 plants in there and 1300 in Cloners. So I've done this a little bit..... Good luck..
I sell clones. I flip moms into bud in a perpetual bud room. Retire 2-6 moms a week into the bud room. Pull 3-5 from bud room every week too. 4-7 ounces a plant. 49 plants in right now. 42 moms in mother room. 9 strains. Lots of work.... Next year I'm tripling the grow and 5 times the space, for future growin. Summer time flipping 2000-4000 clones a week. Clones are weekly money. The way I do bud I have new bud every week. And when I'm learning a new strain I get 8 grows in in 4 months. Or more. Faster way to dial them in. I hand water everything......Jeeze man and there I am looking at a country house and land just to grow 1000 or so beans in the summer when I retire from city life, lol
Looking good
You got 1600 in bloom at once then ? would love to see some pics
1 of my first grows ever was straight ffof no extra perlite or anything. Stuff really pissed me off. But if I look at it honestly it was user error, lol.Ya there is no question u could make FFOF for pennys on the dollar, but shit i need one bag per cycle and it costs like 12 bucks.
