Starting seeds in soil

Hello I plan on starting a few seeds soon. I plan on using soil what would be the best soil to use? I could use the jiffy pellets but I never have before and am kind of nervous about that. In the end I plan on putting the plants outdoors. But they will stay inside under a light until then.

get a small bag of seed starter mix and use 6" pots, imo. no nutes in soil, as in no MG
My local store suggested "Black Gold" brand seed mix, any experience with that? they also have FFOF and 1 other kind of Fox Farms soil, both of which I read people start their seeds in but I think they would be too hot for them. What brand of soil would you suggest?

the black gold mix sounds good. i make my own mixes. 2:1:1, peat, perlite, earth worm castings is a good recipe for seeds

About how much would that cost? Right now I am kind of on a budget and the black gold mix is $11 for a big bag(2yd)

I will check when I go there. Assuming Light Warrior is a brand - what specific kind if there is one?
