Ok, so i have a legality question that you veterans may be able to answer. I casually read MMJ news from time to time in my city (Long Beach, CA), and last month a dispensary got busted here, the volunteers caught it on film, and the put it up on the internet.

Now, my question is, if it is legal under STATE LAW, why did i see only city police in the video. Im assuming this dispensary was following all the rules and whatnot, and i didnt see any feds in the video. So how can a city police force come and do anything, if the dispensaries are following all california state guildlines???

In some cases they are requested by the Feds to assist in raids. They are not leading the raid but rather offering assistance to the raiding officials. Alot of times if an agency is going after someone that is out of their normal jurisdiction they will send a small team and use locals to back them up. It's a normal procedure.

Ok i can dig it. So basically, the city police are the feds bitches, and they have them do the work under their authority. So the core reason for me asking this is, if i start a small grow lets say 4 plants) in my apartment garage (careful about smells, sounds, and lights), i shouldn't worry about the city police kicking down my door, as they probably wont have the feds behind them in order to have the jurisdiction to bust me. This is considering i am following all guidelines. Am i correct in this assumption?

Well, just to let my fellow stoners know, im a veteran. One of my boys just came home from a 18 month stint in afghanistan, and he snagged about 30 seeds from a field out there, and gave me 15 of them. He said he was about 60 miles outside of the kandahar province. He also said the cannnabis out there grows like a fucking cypress tree, and has a slight purple bluish tint to it. Anyways, im going to start this in my garage.

Generally, when your dealing with Long Beach, its the city that is shutting the dispensary down themselves.

Can you give me a quick rundown on how that can be, if they are following the letter of the law? Or are you saying the city is teaming up with the feds to shut them down?

Doesnt matter dude.. just like LA banned dispensaries even tho they complied with the law. If the city council votes to shut an establishment down, then the city police move in and do just that. Has nothing to do with feds. Even tho its a state law, counties and cities have some liberty as far as allowing shit.. just like MJ is legally federally, but some states legalized it..

That's not entirely true, which is why these things go to court.

I drove by the dank depot today, and there was a uhaul backed up to the front door. They were loading everything into it. Anyone know what happened?
