This is my second grow attempt. The first one was a failure. I tried to grow in a small box in soil and had no idea what I was doing, it took me only two weeks to abandon the project. This is my first hydro attempt. I am new to growing but have been reading this forum non stop for days. I've settled on CFLs and DWC. Any advice would be appreciated.
I plan on using a small mini fridge as the grow box. The inside dimensions are 17 inches wide, 14 inches deep and a little over 21 inches high. However for the bottom 8 inches its only 9 deep. All this is assuming i remove the shelves from the door, which at the widest are 3.5 inches deep, which happens to coincide with the nook. I've got that reflective material, should i use it or leave everything white? Whats the best was to clean it? So far ive just used water and disenffectant spray. But that was when I first defrosted it. Should I use rubbing alcohol?
I've got seeds from a grower for dutch dragon, I know they're suppose to be tall but that's all i got. To make sure they're short I'll keep the lights close. I'm thinking 3 plants but not set on it. I want to use dwc and find a reservoir box to fit in the bottom nook, as the plants grow I'll train them on a screen. When exactly am suppose to do that and at what height? I want to use cfls for the lights. I figure I'll get 3 lights 100 Watts bulbs on a power strips mounted over the plants. I'm going to cut a hole at one of the top back corners for the exhaust. I'll build a carbon filter like Wolfman Zen, active carbon, two mesh pencil holders, and a panty hose. Passive intake at the bottom. Does the intake need a filter too? I've got access to a grow shop and lowes and home depot, so finding products shouldn't be a problem. The only thing I've done so far removed all the fridge components from the fridge. Any suggestions so far?
