I found a speaker at the local garbage dump.

My main requirement was it had to fit my large LED Grow Light from a previous grow attempt.

First things first - unscrew the back of the speaker and see how much needed removing.

Unlike other speaker grows I am using the original speaker holes to provide ventilation.

EDIT: That is my LED grow light sitting next to the speaker.

With everything cleared out of the speaker I used a car sun shade/ reflector to increase light supply inside the box. If I come across any heat problems during the grow these will be first to go.

You can see on the second photo below my grow light fits perfectly in the speaker box. It is very powerful but there should be enough distance from the grow to the light in order to avoid burning etc.

Here is a shot with the grow light plugged in. The area above the grow light is where I will install all of the electronics to keep them away from the grow area.

My biggest problem is that the grow light is easily seen through the holes and fabric from the front, this will defeat the purpose of stealth so I'll use some fabric to cover the holes - this should ensure some kind of airflow at the same time.

As mentioned above, my biggest problem is that the grow light is easily seen without extra fabric, defeating the purpose of stealth.

To fix the issue I chose to use 2 layers of black felt, this choice was hard to make as it decreases ventilation more than I would like - but the key here is stealth over grow because I am operating outside of local law.

I used liquid nails (strong glue) to glue two power boards to the top of the speaker box, so all the plugs will be upside down.

I have glued the power boards in a way so that my digital timers can be easily accessed, plus left room for expansion in case I need to install a carbon filter or go hydro with another grow... Always good to think ahead!

With the black felt installed I also glued in the front reflector.

Photos below are of the speaker upside down.

You might see in my last post that the speaker back is opening like a door...

I installed some cheap hinges to make the grow box easily accessibly - while shopping I also grabbed a locking mechanism too keep my babies safe.

I also added a piece of felt to the "door" to assist opening it.

You can see the fibres of the wood cracking a bit at the bottom left, I ended up moving the hinge to solve the issue.

With the power boards glue dried it's time to install some electronics and plug in some power!

First I installed the primary intake fan, to enable cooling/ ventilation/ breeze for the grow.

With the main fan installed I then decided to tidy up the power section up top and tape a digital thermometer inside.

Here's is the current "ON" state with the door open. Still need to install two smaller outtake fans for heat removal/ ventilation.

Here's what the final speaker box will look like during the grow...

There's a bit of light exiting the back corner where the power cord comes out so I might install some black felt about the door to fix it.

The unit does have a slight hum from the fan and light fans - similar to a computer tower.

It's time to grow!

I've planted two seeds (i'll post strain details soon) into seperate Jiffy Pellets, sitting inside a container of perlite to keep things from drying out during germination.

Seeds were soaked for a few hours beforehand. Hopefully we should see these babies rising in the next few days! :weed:

Temperature is great inside the speaker. It's currently sitting at 77F (25C). Very happy with that.

Humidity is hovering at 20-30% but there is no moisture in the air because the germination container is sealed.
