Stealth tent advices needed

First of all, Happy New Year! Thanks for making this awesome community, I've been thinking of growing my own marijuana for some time as I want to get high but there are no dealers in my area, and even if I'd be able to find one the chances of getting some really low quality weed or getting busted by the cops would be high, so I prefer to stay safe !

I thought of a little setup, but obviously I have no experience and I need your help guys

Lighthing: I've heard that some LED lights give great results, but my main concern is the electricity, I've heard LEDs are very efficient when it comes to this so it's the perfect solution. From what I've seen on the forum ProGrow seems pretty popular. My max budget for lighting is 340$, so I need LED lighting that is under 340 bucks and that would go well with my 60x60x140 tent.

I was wondering what kind of cooling do I have to purchase, what fans etc, I've heard that LEDs don't produce any noticeable heat, so would be cooling still a problem?

Now here's the biggest problem. The place where I'm living only has a good place to put this tent but there's no electricity in that particular place and I can't use an electrical extension cord because there's no way to hide it and it would be very suspecious to any guests, so that's not a solution
Now since LEDs have a small electricity consumption I was wondering if I could use any rechargable bateries or some sort of generator (I mean some rechargable thing, not diesel or whatever), I want all this things to be VERY silent.


Also, as an off-topic question, how many plants I could grow in such a tent, and what kind of strains (as far as I know indica strains are small and bushy and indica are the ones tall, would plants from this strain grow too big for my tent)?

You'd need a truck load of batteries. You can get setups they use for solar systems but you're looking at big bucks.

Make a false outlet and run a heavy duty extension cable behind the wall to the room you want.

I will put it to you plain and simple, and this is from someone who has grown exclusively in a cupboard, let alone a tent out in the open.

There is nothing stealth about growing. It will be found.

Unless you have a basement or a hidden room etc, then it will be found. It is simply how it is. you can hand t-shirts over it and pretend it is a clothes cupboard, whatever, one day, someone will find it.

This is one of the biggest issues with growers. You have to massively change your lifestyle. No more house parties, no more letting guests wander around at leisure, no more open doors. The extension chord is the least of your worries. So long as you have a section of your house or flat that is off limits to people, people will speculate and try and have a look see. this seems bred into our very existence. Mummy tells us we can't go in A or can't touch B, we do exactly that. You see a closed door in a house you're told not to go in, someone will eventually crack it open and take a peek.

When you setup growing, you have to accept that you have to change your home lifestyle. Say good bye to bringing that slag home from the pub. that's the one that get's to most growers.

that's the truth. Just so happen's i have a general distrust and disgust for 99% of the human population so having an extra reason to keep others out of my personal space is just another reason why growing is good mmmmmkkkkkayyy

In the 4x12' storage closet I have my tent in, I ran a BX cable and tapped it into the light in the room, spray painted it white, and put a proper outlet in. It merrily runs my 400w light, my humidifier and my 440cfm fan with no issues. I just am now in the habit to never turn that switch off (the light bulb is unscrewed unless I need to see in the room itself).

Of course, I'd only recommend this if you actually know how to wire electrical safety, but that's how I got around the extension cord problem.

@tip top toker, I do have such a place but as mentioned before the problem is the electricity, spek9 thanks for the advice but it won't work for my situation, I need something that I can recharge maybe daily or once in 2-3-4 days or whatever, since LEDs electricity consumption is very small (at least I've heard so) I guess it is posible to find such a thing..

Also, just found out that I have around 330$ promotional credit in my amazon account from a few months ago, so this could be a huge help, still waiting for some ideeas, thanks!

Best bet you'd have is a massive battery bank to handle daily draw (amp/hours) by the # of days between charging and build yourself a DIY LED light driven directly by the DC source I'd have to guess...

They make big ass UPS backup batteries for computers as well... you could perhaps mod one as a DC source... or use directly with a 110v based LED light on it... shame to have DC->AC->DC conversion losses though...

I'd begin looking up DIY UPS Battery and start there...
