step by step how to super crop

Thanks for your advice! ill do that tonight , im excited to get home cuz i fed her this morning and i see crazy result hours after. I was also wondering if that was normal ( i give water every 3 or 4 days when is dry ) its normal that the growth is kind of cyclic high after watering and low until water again? should i water more often since everything drips out?

yeah.. thats about how it goes..

nutes are fed to the plant via water that the roots absorb... the more water and nutes available the quicker the growth.. thats why hydro growing is so quick... as the soil drys out tho, and less water is available, the plant slows growth slightly...

that doesnt mean wetter is better.. with soil it is essential you allow it to dry so the roots dont rot...

as long as the plant is growing at a good rate, and there arent signs of underwatering, i wouldnt water it any more than you are... although you get runoff there is still plenty of moisture in the soil... watering every 3 to 4 days is about right...

any thread that's EXTREMELY helpful with pictures and every lil details about a subject deserve a sticky.

someone who write just 8 sentence describing how to supercrop doesnt make the cut. what simpson just did is more than enough. answer every question there is on the thread and explain it like if we are 2 years old deserve a sticky unless someone already made a better sticky.

pictures step by step really put a boost into the sticky prize.

Couldn't quit thinking about it. Had to try, so I supercropped a LA Con this evening. Can't wait to see how it comes out. How long until the "knot" forms in the stem?

so i have tried to super crop one of my mothers thats in 8 weeks veg and man was the stem ever strong, i finally got it to flop over and now where the bend is the stem went from green to a purplish colour. Is this ok? T hansk

it takes a week or so for the actual knot to form..

the plant will heal and be able to be super cropped before the knot forms...

but the "scar" tissue takes a little longer to form... or rather to completely scar up.. if that makes sense..

ill take a pic or two of the knots i have from earlier super croppings done to the girls i have now...

the spot where the super crop is done can bruise.. it may turn dark green, blackish, or purpleish... its nothing to worry about... sometimes it can look pretty ugly.. especially the thicker the stems are... but it will all heal and be fine in the end..

Like i said previously on this forum, i wanted to use the super crop tehcnique ( get the stem soft so it falls by itself) on a side branching leaf and it actually killed the leaves, i tried on two of hem and they both diedd, ill post pic in my grow journal eventually , just a little come back peace and thanks again for this useful thread simpsonsampson

I wont quote myself , ill just explain quickquick, I wanted to provide more light to the lil budsite appearing at the base of the main stem. In order to do so, i had to find a way to move the branch holding a big loner leaf cuz it was blocking the light. Since it was a really small stem not like a main stem, cuz it was only feeding one set of lead, it soften pretty easily, maybe too easily. Anyway 2 day passed and leafs started to yellow and now its getting worst, At first i thought i had fert burn them because of the way the yellow was displaying but since it was only on one leaf its def not fert burn... anyway just sayin so people dont try do supercrop on stem that arent main stem or stem feeding at least one budsite... i guess if the stem is already soft to bend easily dont soften it more PEACE

ahhh.. i got ya...

yea, wait until the stem has some substance to it prior to super cropping.. if the stem is to small or young there is a chance it can be over damaged from the softening...

simpson samsung man of the hour with all the answers. I love this thread and your other thread giving tons of information about growing. I only skimmed throug that thread for now because it is so big and im going to follow the information as i grow. i was reading the first few pages of this thread and noticed alot of talk about FIM(wtf is FIM???) and topping. It seems like topping and FIM is some kind of cutting of branchs or leaves or something of that sorts?

Sorry i know im kinda clueless about this shit and i wana get my first grow as good as i can taking RIU members advice into my own harvest.

Maybe you alrdy summed up what FIM and topping is in a previous thread or post and you can just link me instead? Thanks man appreciate any help.

I just super cropped my WW about 4 days ago and its looking great. I can already see the lower limbs starting to catch up to the top. Cant wait to see the end result. :-)
