sticky beaver rosin press reviews ??? lookin to buy a decent otherwise electric rosin press, canada

Yes I froze it then ran it but like I said, real happy with how it turned out, clear with a slight Amber tinge and let it air purge for 5 days then heat purged for a few hours at 120 then it was basically shatter. Didn't vacuums purge but probably should have :(.

BHO and vac chambered with and old converted Thermotron tester built in Holland.
That is added to alcohol and wintered (in a freezer) for 30 days.
Filtered and evaped then back in the Thermotron.

1 hit is like the closest you can get to dropping acid, without actually dropping acid! Done with a big "Liquid Sci" bong and a good titanium nail!

Shatter = No plant matter! Test's out in the 90's
Had a guy :spew:after a massive hit....:fire:.....His wife was pissed........Till she got a nice one and for some reason her clothes fell off not to long after that....Looked good, dancing around the fire.... (:

Can I come to the next fire please

Would a MotoMaster 10 ton shop press from Canadian Tire do the trick?

I'm gonna get the 7x4 dual heating plates from low temps plates. Why would someone pay for the $140 upgrade to control both plates separately? Why?

Can't copy the link to the motomaster press I'm talking about (stupid phone!!), Google it!!

Thanks!!

Still can't wrap my brain on why you guys want to spend 2k+ on a simple press. Harbor freight 20 ton for 225.00, 20.00 for grade 10 hardware upgrade, 1.5 hrs build time, 380.00 for 3x5 plates or 415.00 for 4x7 plates from low temp plates. Done.

With all the money you save, you can stock up on rosin bags, parchment paper, dab tools, or a new oil rig to test your rosin with.
Pics or it didnt happen!

If you make a post like this ya gotta link to the build thread, or at least link some pictures with how this is done.

What does the alcohol bath accomplish (winterizing). And I would love to but unfortunately the guys at your border may have other thoughts :(. Your welcome here though Doc, bring the uninhibited lady along :). Yup fire pit and a lake :).

Winterizing using high proof ethanol when running bho, while in the freezer, it removes plant waxes and other non essential garbage.

Basically cleans it up further.
So it mixes and evaporates off with the alcohol? I'll give it a try :). Just always evacuated to 500 microns three or four times after whipping :).

Honestly, I'd get with the guys who blast bho for a tek. I'm only posting what I remember reading about it. There is absolutely ZERO need to winterize solventless rosin. Reason, why would you introduce a solvent in a solventless rosin extract.

I won't be doing rosin for a bit but I will be doing about a pound run of BHO this weekend :). I may try the winterizing on a bit. Here's the ISO run from a few days ago, it's got a bunch of dark brown globules in it :(. But yes tasty :). IMG_3409.JPG

You can also winterize iso with etoh as well. Same principal as winterizing bho.

Just a heads up, you will deffinately get more yield with bho vs rosin. But I toss all my used baggies and flower pucks into my iso jar.

How or why can the 3 x 5 be better?? I've already ordered I went with the big ones in case I get the hang of it and chose to process more of my harvest into rosin. Can I get the same results as a 3 x 5 if I use the same amount I would on the 3 x 5 vs 4 x 7 ???

To each their own. I've ran the 3x5, then bought the 4x7, then Went back to the 3x5. With the larger plates, the rosin was cooking on the extra plate surface rather than flowing out the plates. I was using 25iu 2.5x4.5" baggies. Ran same kief, same baggies, same temp, same pressing time, same ambient air temp. With the larger plates, my rosin was smearing like diarrhea on the parchment. Quite the opposite with the smaller plate.

See pics below
Pic 1 is the diarrhea run (smeared when trying to collect it)
Pic 2 is my normal rosin (easily picked up with a dab tool, no smearing)20161014_215722.jpg 20161020_132723.jpg

could it be that the bags you are using for the 4 x 7 are too small? need to run larger runs?

also, on lowtemp plates website, they say:
  • Made to fit any hydraulic press up to 20 tons with a 2" diameter ram or less.

whats that ram thing? would the size of the ram affect how well secure the plates are and maybe you need the largest ram to run the bigger plates^?

I wish I dont regret going with the 4 x 7. I could maybe change my order ... anybody else using the the 4 x 7?
