Brings flavor to a whole new level...like, perceptible, in my case...

Based on that bag picture, you will be able to get better yields by compacting/stuffing/prepressing the “puck” before you put into press, the smaller the area (not so much the volume) the more force is available per squish..,,

Can’t remember if i linked this before:

Bag pressure = total force of your press in lbs, divided by (length x width) of your “puck” in inches.
I think you did post that chart before but this time I saved it.

Yep, totally agree on that. I bought the 100um rosin filter tube from them. I cut that one too short to begin with. I'll get better soon. 8-)

Holy frickin hell, you weren't kidding about the stickiness! The smell is absolutely amazing too. I'm thinking higher temps and maybe a bit longer time will yield better. Gonna take my first dab now. bongsmilie

What he said. The bag should be full and no like void zones. Hard to explain in words.

For some reason I was really motivated today. :bigjoint:

I moved my filter into the grow room instead of pulling the air through the grow room into the dry room and then through the filter.

Airflow through the grow room should be much better this way. I was also able to eliminate all noise of the fan from being heard above on the main floor.

I definitely think I need to raise the temp closer to 220° for maybe 120 seconds.... Also, I need to get better at pre-pressing. I don't think I got the yield out of that 4 grams that I should have.

My wife loves it!

It's in the basement and it's cold down there. Maybe it isn't heating up as hot as it should?
So, here’s my general approach:

make sure your bud has enough moisture to flow, about same rh % as cure jars (55-62%)

Break it up into pieces: don’t have to grind, just break into 1/4” sized pieces and pull out noticeable stemmage....

Put a layer of bud in the bottom of a bag. Take a chopstick-/pencil-sized blunt stick and pack the layer down to remove airspace, add and pack layers into smallest footprint that is 1/2” thick.

(I actually have a hand pre-press that i put bag in, to compresse further; you could work out a quick cold press tech with the duly. Pre-press to half of beginning thickness w no heat.)

Put pre-pressed bag in parchment, and close platens just enuff to touch bag surfaces, hold at target temp for 1 minute (to heat up puck), then press at your target pressure/temp/time.

Maybe this will help in some way:

That link and your info were very helpful. Thank you!

A couple packing vids:

(when he flips bags inside out, he’s making sure that seam edges are inside bag; some bags come that way, so don’t need to flip them)

If you buy a pre-press mold, get one that matches your platten size or smaller...

Excellent! Thanks man. I was looking for a video like that yesterday and couldn't find one on packing the bag.

I have a hammer press and a small bar press. I was using the hammer press yesterday to make the puck. I need to work with the other one some too.

All part of the adventure...great thing you have a lot of test material....
