Still Having Problems

This baby is about 3 weeks old and having problems still. The first set of fan leaves (the set of 2) we're doing fine for a couple days and then they started developing these spots that eventually turned out looking like burnt yellow spots. The next set of leaves (2 sets of 3) we're doing fine for a while but have just recently started showing the same signs the first leaves did. I left the original leaves on the plant becuase they didnt die all the way AND because I had another plant with same problem and when I clipped the leaves that were dying the entire plant was dead the next day. I've tried pH testing it. The results look like they around 6 or 7 when I pull the strip out of the water but it looks darker later after the strips been sitting around for awhile. Any suggestions?

What's your soil mix? What lights do you have on them? What and how often and how much nutes are you giving to them? How often do you water? Good drain system?

What kind of soil are you using? Have you added any nutes to it? Looks like it could be nute burn.

I havent used any nutrients at all. I water about every other day sometimes less (depends on how moist the soil looks). The soil is just standard potting soil I bought from menards (which is like a lowes) for cheap. Its a 200 watt MH light (standard bulb i bought at meijer). As far a draining system goes its just holes stabbed in the side of that bucket.

can you poke your finger through the soil with ease? Or is it compacted? Did you place a layer of rock/pebbles, in the bottom of your pot? What size pots? Look on the bag of soil you used. Is it fortified with nutrients?
Sorry so many questions, just trying to help.:blsmoke:

I dont know about the soil. I dont have the bag anymore. I suppose I could go to the store where I bought it and check it out. Theres no pebbles or rocks in the bottom, no. And the bucket its contained in is about 3 gallons. And yes, I can push my finger into the soil fairly easily.

I dont mind all the questions I want to get to the bottom of this so I can save my plant. Thanks for all the help so far.

Should I start adding nutrients?
also (slightly off topic) How soon should I change it to a 12/12 light cycle? It's on 24 hours a day right now.

I just thought of something else I noticed. Around the air holes I have cut in the bucket there's been this orange/yellow powder-like build up thats been showing up. Also, I'll occasionally see the same type of thing on top of the soil when it dries. I dont know why I didnt mention this before. I have a feeling this has something to do with my problem.

Ill take a picture if someone needs it.

Orange powder? What was in the bucket and what was it used for before you put soil and plants in it? You did sterilise and disinfect it before you put the soil and plant in it didn't you?

Well, I dont think it matters because I saw the same kind of build up on a different container I was using before the plant that was in it died. But, it was a pickle bucket and yes I did clean it.
