Still no independent review of the GeekBeast Pro???

Got my Geekbeast. Still haven't figured out how to get it to connect to my phone. Been running it on some young plants at about 40% power and they are doing great. One thing that I was really delighted about is that the cables are so long that you can easily put the transformer outside the tent. I run mine up through the top vent and they are long enough to put the unit on the floor. There is no mechanical attachment of the transformer to the lamp and I am such a clutz at times that I couldn't trust myself to not knock it down into the SOG.

Migro will be doing a review on the geekbeast in the coming weeks fyi
That is so good to hear. I have been waiting and waiting for this and just couldn't wait any longer so I bought one on Prime's recommendation. I was moving one of those little spyder farmers by hand about 20 times a day to cover my SOG. Now it's covered and more. This thing is quite snug in a 4x4 space would recommend 5 width.

Hey guys. I ordered two of the Geek Beast Pros (a bit of an impulse buy) last week and they arrived yesterday. So far I'm very glad that I pulled the trigger.

Putting them together was fairly simple and I had them hanging in 4x8 flower tent in no time. I'm replacing some pretty crappy Amazon COB LEDs so I'm really confident they're going to perform well. The heat output is way less than my other lights, my tent is much cooler already. I got the lights connected to my phone in no time. I still need to connect their bridge unit to my router so that I can automate schedules and control the lights from outside my home if needed.

I'll be using these two lights in my 4x8 flowering tent, and now I'm looking to buy one of their Monster Boards for my 4x4 veg tent. Any suggestions? Would the 480W or the 600W be overkill for a 4x4 veg tent?

Hey mate, congratulations on the good choice. I'm so happy with my geekbeast and the 320 and 2 x 240 monsterboards. You will be blown away if you keep a nice even canopy.

What do you think would be the best buy for my 4x4 veg tent? I feel like the IR and UV on those Monster Boards would go to waste as I thought that stuff is only for flowering...

600 in 4x4 veg is a lot. but you can always dim, and you never know when you might need more power..

I decided to go with the Kingbrite 480W @ 4000k for the veg tent. Might also be a bit of overkill - but like you said, nice to have options.

As I understand it is all about the amount of umol/m2/s.
1000-1200 (without using CO2) is about the max.
What will it be with this lamp when it is not dimmed?

Hello guys
Harvest was yesterday and unless I've got my calendar wrong it's earlier than usual, just under a week.
I am very, very impressed. No weights yet, but I say the yield is easily what I have been achieving using two 600hps. The plants I've grown for multiple grows, years in some cases have expressed colours I've not seen before, the UK cheese has purple tinges and this is with low temps of 20c. I ran the lights at night to combat summer heat, high temps rarely passed high 20s over the last 4 weeks. Yields have been just what I hoped for, I finally think I've got my winning formula now. Even the plant in the least amount of soil, a tangilope in 6Litres looks like it will give a good Oz and half or more. Barely 2ft off the ground and look at the size of the colas.

If you are interested in going led, then I wholeheartedly vouch for geeklight.
I burned my plants a bit when I switched them to the beast pro. I should never have turned it all the way up.
How far away do you keep yours and what percentage of power do you use? If you would be so kind. I am doing ok now in the last stages of veg at 40 or 50 percent and about 16" but am wondering how high to turn it during flower?

Last grow I had the canopy 6 inches away minimum and ran no higher than 90% on the Geekbeast and 80 % on the monster boards. No noticeable light toxicity issues, but definite
calcium Def issues.

Are you guys battling any heat issues with the Geek Beast?

I've been ramping my brightness up this past week. I got it up to 70% and my tent is around 91*F with my room ambient at about 78*F

That is about ten degree hotter than me. I run my light from 10pm to 10am. Have a window A/C that comes on for three minutes every eight minutes that is ducted into a tent and a ducted fan on top of the tent sucking air out at half power. I turn the a/c off during the day and just leave the door to the room open. When I was running it at 100% power I was getting 85 to 90 before I put in the duct to the a/c.
I just checked now and it is at 77degrees and 70% humidity at the canopy. At 70% power.

Hello all, been busy. Ok so, I took pictures using the meter. Firstly the large room has 32 x 320w spread across 400sqft. Everything i have was before the new strip system. which we will get next as well for testing. Pic.3 is Par at pot level. pic.1 is Par at canopy. Testing was done with UV and IR off. s
Veg room (one side) has 2 x 480w, UV on and at 66% power through app control. Plants came in damaged but still able to pull over 26 elbows. I believe the weight is short because I only went with 3 part feed. no additives. I agree that the plants respond "dramatically" faster to deficiencies than under bulbs. If there is more i can dive into let me know and Ill try it out at some point.

I have central A/C in the home but it's already running as low as I'm comfortable running it. I may need a portable AC unit for the room my tent is in. I have another 4x4 tent in there with a Kingbrite 480W which is getting up to about 89* too.

Also my exhaust fans are running at full speed in both tents... is it better to run them at a lower speed? I will put them at 50% before lights on tonight and see how my temps are.
