Here I am, a few bowls outta my new 2 foot long perculator (spelling?) glass bong watching Primeval, and eating out of a bag of Doritos which I purchased because they were labeled tortia chips. Now I have problems with most foods, however for some reason with chips of any sort I don't have any problems, (although I had a few stomach issues with taro chips, never the unhealthy real kind), So they make the perfect munchie and keep me with weight on.
So i'm munching on these Doritos Tortia Chips (with a little hat that says TACO FLAVOR). I realize that these are a taco chip like their nacho cheese, or cool ranch chips, NOT an actual Tortilla Chip as advertised. I noticed this after I looked on the back and saw a little picture of a bag of chips saying Doritos Taco in a more colorful bag. This bag and its wording was designed to sell to people who were looking for tortilla chips for dipping in salsas and cheeses, but instead they wrongly get this powdered with taco seasoned snack chip. Its their brilliant idea to advertise to a new market a product so it wont compete with its already dominated base of flavored chips (see above, Nacho, Cool Ranch, etc etc)for market share. This is a board room idea where they said "Lets screw the consumer, and not give them what they want cause a certain number will like it anyway and then buy our new product."
My dilema about this. I like the chip, I would infact choose this over other flavors. However I have a real problem with how Doritos did this, because I happen to be someone who doesn't mind its not a tortilla chip, in my mindset when I purchased it I was in fact that consumer. Many elderly people will spend their fixed income money on tamer tortilla chips only to find they get this garbage and say "Oh hell" and feel ripped off... So although I like these, I don't think I can buy them because this makes me see Doritos as unethical, heartless, and straight up selfish. Doritos want to pull the old bait and switch, then they will have to do it without my dollar...
Man these are good tho... I think i'll quickly munch down this bag, Damn you Doritos!!! Why did you have to be so unethical leaving me taco chipless??!!!!!!!
And that is a new series I like to call, stoned moments. Odd enough?
