stoner needs some stoner advice on indoor growing x_X

ok so here it is.....i have germinated a seed and planted it yadda yadda yadda. i planted the germinated seed january 8th 2012 and its almost one month old. i noticed today that the part where the leaf branch hits the stem that there is little tiny thick pole looking things. ive attached a picture of what i am talking about.....does this mean my plant is a female? HELLLP

Im a first time grower as well and my plants had those "little poles" BUT they turned into little leaves that branched out and made leaves that branch out and so on. So nothing to worry about its just the plants life

correct, those will tun into branches.

after you switch the light period to 12 ours on, 12 hours off, you will see either white, hair-like pistils or little banana like bunches. the former means female, the latter means male.

you might also see little things that look like that that are called stipules they're just there, some have em some dont
